Steadfast
With 60033 having roughly half the engine hours of the ones that are getting sidelined, perhaps a repair is becoming cost effective on this "low mileage" machine? jo
Clay Country
Unless "being worked on" means they are being stripped for anything left that's still of value to the overhaul programme. It would be good to see these two back in service though, so I hope I'm wrong...

magic_monkey09
Does she sound any healthier now or clag less than the other 60's?
Arpleymodeller
It should sound more healthier! however you probably wouldnt notice a great difference up close.
Arpleymodeller
60054 and 60091 are in a heavily stripped condition at Toton, there are a couple of images on Flickr. These must be the next 2 that will return to action following overhaul. Shame to see 054 loose its 90s vintage petroleum logos! RMweb Premium Roman Posted October 1, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 1, 2011 got this picture of 60049 at Plumley yesterday morning...a lovely morning it was too. There are three(3)class 60s working on the Liverpool coal circuit, all busy as I type.

Steadfast
Here's the current power provider on 6B33 Theale - Robeston, 60071. 2nd loudest 60 I've ever heard! 60091 not quite knocked from its perch. We could certainly hear it coming earlier this afternoon at Chipping Sodbury jo Edited October 1, 2011 by ewsjo
Grimleygrid
Nice photo of 071 Jo, that looks like a very nice location. Yesterday we visited Mrs Grimley’s parents in Gloucester and whilst in the area I decided to try to get a bit of 60 action on board. I had hoped that 60015 would work 6V98 to Westerleigh allowing me to get a shot of the return journey but unfortunately it failed on Friday with the empty tanks from Colnbrook. So I thought a shot of overhauled 007 on 6B13 might be nice, only for it not to run! I then saw that 065 was at Westerleigh ready to work back to Humberside on 6E41 and as I hadn’t got a great photo of her decided to head off to Badgeworth. Here are a couple of photos:
Steadfast
Cheers Alex, its nice and easy to do, too. Just park up in some houses and walk about 100 metres along a footpath! Not like some of these locations that are half an hour's trudge across a field. 6B13 was originally part of our plan too.... Read on wnxx forum that 60054 is fuelled and ready for some testing. Seems the time spent working out what goes where with 007 was worthwhile. Hope it all goes well and is in red soon jo
pharrc20
Nice to see 60024 pass through Hazel Grove this evening on the return Ashburys to Dowlow empty JRA boxes, not much noise going up the bank to Disley as he was following the Buxton passenger train up. RMweb Premium Roman Posted October 6, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 6, 2011 I visited Peak Forest and Tunstead earlier this week , thought I would walk up the hill overlooking Tunstead Quarry to get a picture of 60039 on 6H43 from Pendleton. 60049 was also about.
