PatB
Marvellous bit of film, made more so because Newcastle in the mid-80s is a very special place for me. Quite apart from the modellyness lent by the viewpoint, there is much of interest. Mixed rakes of loco hauled stock, shiny new 2nd generation DMUs in PTE livery and the odd (to my eyes; no doubt those more knowledgeable will tell me it was perfectly normal) mismatch between power cars and coaches on the IC125. Not to mention the reference material for roof weathering. Loved the 31 with single van too.
Boris
I'd almost forgotten what a fun place Newcastle was to be in the mid 80s and early 90s.

Guest
Found some of Great Grandads old photos a by Mozzer models, on Flickr b by Mozzer models, on Flickr c by Mozzer models, on Flickr It's an easy mistake to make, due to the title, but this thread is for real life pictures that look like models. The OP had a sentence continuing on from the title "But can the real thing look like a model" which for some reason has been removed. However, some great modelling work there. Sorry for the confusion...
RMweb Premium keefer Posted December 16, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 16, 2014 The one thing which 'grates' a little bit are the buildings just visible in the left background: http://www.railpictures.net/photo/510159 I thought that looked like edinburgh's princes st. gardens at first - Maybe Dave has bought some US stock to run on Waverley West! Sorry for the confusion... Surely Peter Kazmierczak, who started this thread (or even Andy York) could change the title as this is not the first time this confusion has arisen. surfsup
This must be a layout too, someone's gone to all that trouble constructing a beautiful works building, then plonked a Bratchell Models 321 in it!
Sam*45110*SVR
Snipped from Jim's "down by the tracks with colas" thread, this shot really does shout (very realistic) model to me ! a few from the weekend 70810 at bicester the new bridge is going to provide some great photo opportunities, the 70 is on the line to claydon, the line below is the new chord to marylebone I doubt anyone would notice if I posted this in the "how realistic are your models" thread ! The weathering effects are really good.
RMweb Gold Colin_McLeod Posted December 31, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 31, 2014 This picture taken near Waterford, Ireland, has the look of a Garden railway layout to it. https://www.flickr.com/photos/be216cd1/15961701437/in/photostream/

fender
borrowed from DaveF's excellent photo thread: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/uploads/monthly_01_2015/post-5613-0-94272300-1422467767_thumb.jpg trackwork, in particular, is excellent, but there's some dodgy sleeper spacing going on there. I think the Bachmann 101 would have looked better though...
BR(S)
where is the bus on the bridge though? Stewart With recent happenings at the entrance to Clerkenwell Tunnel here, I think the question is where's the Farringdon Lido?!
