Grasshopper John
Dearly Beloved, We are gathered to witness The joining of the D0G The coupling from the tender is a bit crude but i followed the Inst it's just a bent piece of .8mm wire. The discerning of you may have spotted a mistake I made, I used the wrong steam valves just in front of the firebox, Only because the ones that should have been fitted decided to play hide and seek, low and behold they turned up yesterday, so it was on with the kettle and a struggle to remove the offenders I could of left them but it just wasn't right so here are the correct ones fitted. Now I need some advice, On the LH side on PAD's build the handrail has a step just before the firebox my Inst do not show this as it's not an accurate model of any loco I'm tempted to just have one straight handrail. Do you agree. Regards Grasshopper J.

Grasshopper John
Here you go OzzyO, you can see that PAD has a rise in the handrail. He has actually written down inst for me but as you know 7mm and 4mm are different beasts Grasshoppper
Grasshopper John
Hello All, Lots of time spent but not too much to show for it, I seem to spend a lot of time repairing breakages I've added a bit more pipework, both cylinder fronts, and the regulator rod, this was a big but little job. The WM bracket seems to be a bit on the big side, the hole was marked on the boiler so i set about drilling arhhh presenting it it was obvious it was too high so out with the milliput. Now trying to mark the correct spot was a problem so i formed the .4mm wire and fixed it in place leaving enough either side, I put it to the boiler and made my mark, drilled the hole Arghhh it was too low out with the milliput, at least NOW I knew the correct position dead center of my previous attempts. Here are a couple of pics. Such a rewarding Hobby Regards Grasshopper.
Grasshopper John
Afternoon All, Handrails now fitted, Deflectors are cunningly held by a bit of blue tack, and the caprotti gear is just a dry fit, do they look ok? Looking at the Inst there is a bit of pipework that comes out of the front of the cylinders but I cant get my head around them, I think I will just follow PAD then I know I can't go wrong ( he said ) Appreciate your thoughts. Grasshopper. PS I tried to get a bit more light in front of main windows, the D0G is on top of the Black

Grasshopper John
That is looking like 'The Beast'..........nearly there now. Once you get some paint on it you will have one real beauty hulking great loco to play with. P It certainly is a beast and it will probably run like a D0G as well although I cant really find out for sure as I do not have a layout, I just love building them. Added a bit more pipework after I worked out how it was supposed to be positioned from the slidebar, as said the Inst are kind of 'fend for yourself' and good luck ! You may notice on bottom left I have soldered a bit of 1mm wire to the back of the deflectors and drilled locating holes in boiler to add support as they are a bit flimsy to say the least. Grasshopper John
The front steps should be at an angle. OzzyO. Nice spot OzzyO, the LH side was OK the RH however Hmmmm it was seated correctly in the rebate under the footplate but it was indeed not right, more hot water and a broken step later I have amended the said step.
