Hoorah to exhibitions getting going again.

After the Eigsn show Bob mentioned that there were a number of broken items on the layout. As Bob was driving down South to stay with his Mum I asked him to bring the layout to me do that I could do the repairs.

 

The layout arrived Friday afternoon and repair work started straight away on the teo broken Turnout tie bars using thicker copper paxlon sleepers that had been used before. Both turnouts working fine and today the damaged rails across the baseboards to the Quay have been repaired.

 

There was also a bit of damage to the road surface by the tram line so this was fixed and painted today.

 

A few other items now replaced along with a bit of touch up to the buildings along the Quay tramline.

 

All should be ready for Bob yo pick up tomorrow and take back to Cheshire.

I have also been improving the stone and roof tilescon a couple of the terrace houses. The mortar has brrn picked out using a wash of acrylic paint thrn after leaving to dry for a few minutes it's wiped off with a tissue.

 

The tiles have  been picked out using various shades of rust acrylics
