Rugd1022 Posted August 3, 2019 Author Share Posted August 3, 2019 D1037 at Taunton on 11th April 1975, the chap on the right standing with his daughter is Exeter based enthusiast John Oldridge, a prolific timer of Westerns back in those days, has father Bill was a Driver at Exeter and was the last but one to drive D1007 'Western Talisman' before it had the fatal accident at Ealing in December '73, he wrote a few notes In the fault book and this was the reason it was stopped at Old Oak and had attention given to the batteries, the rest is history as they say... photo by Roger Geach... 12 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Rugd1022 Posted August 11, 2019 Author Share Posted August 11, 2019 A touch self indulgent this one but worth posting for the nostalgia factor - my brother was just sent this photo of 50 050 at Padd on 27/3/89 and realised that both he and I are in it, he's the oik in the foreground with his back to the camera and your's truly is the skinny 'dude' in the white shirt, black jeans and black jacket leaning nonchalantly against the canopy support - a few minutes before this was taken I took the shot which follows it, of Old Oak driver Colin Morgan about to board 'Fearless' and set off for Newbury... 18 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
