brossard
You can still get wired mice/rodents, but it's more likely you will need to look for them in the more specialist gaming PC sites where the users prefer them to wireless as they are more responsive and reliable in the split second reaction timings that PC gaming requires. I did notice that BB had a load of gamer mice. These went for around $100 (whaaaat!? ) so I didn't give them more than a cursory glance and don't know if they were wired. Mine is a simple Logitech costing $15. As Kylestrom notes, a good mousepad is recommended. One thing I've never been able to get the hang of is that tracker ball or finger pad on laptops. Hate the flippin' (insert rude word of your choice here) things. John

JeremyC
Likewise - once you have used them on Radar consoles you never go back - I even added one to replace my mouse when I worked for the council - caused chaos if someone else wanted to use my computer. I've just replaced my home use one ( now on around #5 or#6 )after several years use - I need s central ball rather than a side ball, as I have familial tremor in my thumb and the cursor jumps about all over the screen Another trackball user having got used to them on control systems for ship's machinery. There they also have the advantage of not scooting off across the desk when the ship rolls. I seem to have influenced all my family; my wife and two sons all prefer trackballs. RMweb Premium melmerby Posted December 3, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 3, 2018 The Marconi Trackball was recommended for use with the BBC Micros if you wanted a pointing device I had a "WIMP" type program for my Beebs but never got the Trackball. I would prefer it on a laptop as I don't get on with touch devices Keith

shortliner
Why is it that when you put a duvet cover in the tumble dryer empty it comes out with all the other washing inside it. Jamie ! One oif our fitted sheets successfully did that this morning -- trying to get the resulting huge ball out of the machine was great fun! Several rude words were needed! Each cell, of six, numbers down the first (left) side 1,2,3, then down the second 4,5,6. The second letter has a single dot at position 4. 'i' would have a dot at 2 and one at 4. The rest of the letters and contractions are correct. I checked this with my wife who used to teach Braille.'a' has one dot but it is at position 1. A few years ago two of ours, then in their late 20's boomeranged back, as they do, and were with us for Christmas. At 8am they were shouting into our bedroom that it was time to get opening presents. Shortly thereafter we were surrounded by a scene very similar to the one in the picture. It was brilliant. Jamie

In our kitchen we have a sign reading "Grandchildren are your reward for not strangling your teenagers!" RMweb Gold BoD Posted December 5, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 5, 2018 (edited) My good deed done for the day. I was in Tescos yesterday afternoon and I was behind an old lady in the queue. Her shopping came to £47.76 but when she counted her money she only had just under £45. On reflection I thought that she was probably someone's granny and I’d like to think that someone would have helped my granny. She didn't want me to help her but I insisted, and in no time at all we had all her shopping back on the shelves.......
