How long ago was that taken?

Probably in the late 1970s, possibly into the 80s, I would need to check the date on the slide to confirm.

EDIT

Probably taken from about this location:

Nowadays there is a platform on that line, not then.

I only noticed this last night when I was doing my paperwork. I was buying paint a couple of days ago and when the chap asked me if I wanted to put a job reference on the invoice I hesitated before saying ‘Tina’…

I wonder how  many people have a job reference of "No, thank you."

While preparing Sunday dinner I found this, which I can only describe as vegetable porn, in a bag of carrots. Where's That's Life when you really need it?

Maybe, the problem is that both got away with it for decades, because no one seriously acted on the rumours. They were too big to say anything against, such was their power/importance - largely to charities.

There's a very interesting interview of John Lydon from the late 70s where he tried to but the BBC put pay to it. Public enemy number 1 then but a hero in retrospect.

This made me snort when I saw it on Twitter last week.  I know Network Rail have been criticised for asset awareness but searching for faulty third rail in the Newton Abbot area? (It turned out in reality to be a signal cable fault and a slightly dozy Twitter operator)

Perhaps it's a premonition?

For the year 2053.

After third rail track had first been extended all the way from Waterloo to Exeter Central.

Then used on the newly-build Dawlish Avoiding Line, all the way to Newton Abbot and Paignton.

I see you can join the uprising then!

Went through all that malarky with the GPO, to make sure you knew which colour wires you were dealing with in a multicore trunk cable.
