Hi all

Not much progress on the layout over the summer months, but gave the outside of the shed a coat of protection ready for the winter months, added a none slip step and gave the door some stripes.

This week  had a go at a large works relief building, so far added draine pipes and a large pipe to the front that will connect to other buildings along with a bit of weathering.

Thanks for looking.

  Jez

Hi all

Today  been working on the fiddle yard and the latest works building adding more pipework and a balcony with access to the roof ,this will be sitting above the fiddle yard.

More items of rolling stock have arrived a large logo Farish 47 , picked up for £50 and a class 60 for £52, will change to metal sector brading,       had not planned on running 60s but at that price had to have one .....it is in my era but i like my pairs of 20s 37s  and 56s.... have to admit it looks the buisness with a rake of loaded BAAs on coils, and is a great runner will pull 24 MGRs up the incline with ease just like the real thing!

  All the best ....Jez

Thanks mate, cant wait for when Farish realese the 37`5s a pair would look great outside that new depot of yours.

Hi all

Added a balcony and steps for roof access on latest project just need to add a door, will also add more pipework and vents but dont want to over do it though.

Took a couple of shots of a 60 on empty weathered BAAs  steel working passing a 56 on the MGRs with a 31 in the works in the background.

  Thanks for looking.

HI all

A hevy duty fork lift truck used for container stacking arrived from Japan, removed the container lift and made an attachment for lifting coils.

Not sure if the truck is a bit over the top for loading coils...?  IT towers over a Tip Hook coil wagon but some coils do way 25 ton....

 What do you guys think...?

 Thanks for looking

big forks looks good, no harm in being over specced for a heavy lifting job.

a quick google search found this video on youtube

Looks good Jez, I think the only change i would make is the cab, Maybe cut out the section that raises it off the main body?

Graham.

Thanks Graham..... I will give it a go and see how it looks.

Hi Jez, love the latest photos. I am a big fan of class 60s especially on BAAs, they look superb on a fully loaded rake. I look forward to seeing your Metals 60, 031 is a nice one to model. My favourite!....

The photo with the Railfreight Grid, Red-stripe Railfreight 31 and 60 is right up my street. Great work Sir.

I agree with Graham that it's the cab which looks wrong. Not only would I drop it onto the main 'deck' of the machine, as Graham suggested, I'd also consider reducing it's height. Difficult to be sure from the photo, but it just looks far too big for a scale driver.

Hi Grimleygrid.... Thanks for the comments plan to have a rake of 20 BAAs, half way there at the moment and will have a mix rake of some with  Tip Hook hoods and BDAs.

Here is another photo of a 56 leaving the yard on MGRs with a 60 on the main line.

Hi All

A bit of progress at the north end of the layout...

Made a small bridge for the main line to pass over the entrance to the yard that links up with the steel works, the main line carries on along with  a small drop and a gentle turn to the right onto an helix which will link up with the fiddle yard.

The plan is for the depot to sit above the helix (half built at the moment) if i can get on with making the helix work to my liking.

Thanks for looking and a Happy New Year.

 Jez
