This week i have started on a few new projects like the tunnel mouth at the north end of the station.

This was made from a 3mm MDF base coated in 40thou plastikard and plastikard strips.then i added brick plastikard sheets in between

the pillars and posts then the whole lot was primed with grey primer.

I then painted the brick with a concrete colour the started to gradually add the red brick paint using the dry brush method until happy with the shade.

Then the beams were hand painted in a dark grey.I then decided to weather it using powders rather than break out the airbrush.

Along with the tunnel mouth i have also been working on this knightwing double portacabin which i had already pre built but was not happy with it so i decided

to take it all apart and repaint it into the colours you see in the photo. As you can see i have added some secure wire mesh over the windows to protect the

glass from vandalism which i thought was i nice touch.

All it needs now is a light weathering and branding into a network rail cabin as im planning on placing it into the network rail line side yard when i get round

to building it.

I have now decided to scratch build a tuners distribution center out of plastikard. So here is the base of the building with the offices in the

middle and the workshops on the left for the maintenance of the trucks and the loading bays are on the right.

I wanted a fairly large building to fit the space and i think it fit in well. All thats left to do is add the brick and corrugated walling along with the roof, doors and windows.

As this is a larger size building i have decided to cover it in scale scenes sheets as it will be easier and cheaper to do.I have printed off all required

sheets to finish the project so i will up post another update once its all complete and if i am happy with the result.

End of Sunday? Bloody hell, people say I work fast but that is in a different league of speed.

Looking nice mate. Are you finding scratchbuilding addictive yet? It won't be long now until you are replacing all the Scenecraft and Skaledale structures with your own :D

hi jason

Yes sunday is probably being a little optimistic i think but i will be spending all day on it today. And yes i really got the bug for scratch building now and im sure

i will end up replacing everything on the layout with scratch built eventually.I do have a lot of ready to plant buildings from my old layout that are still in boxes

so i think they will end up on ebay soon.

Great pictures Terry, keep up the good work!

thanks swifty

I thought i would post another update on the turners distribution center.i have now added the walling and corrugated sheets as well as

the roof.

All that's left to do is fit the windows and doors for the office and internal and external lighting.and of course a light weathering with the

airbrush.

I have then got to place it onto the layout and add all the extra details like the garage equipment and yard details.I am intending to build

a small security hut for the entrance and a fueling stage near the garage for the trucks to fuel up before departing the yard.
