A Nod To Brent - a friendly thread, filled with frivolity, cream teas and pasties. Longing for the happy days in the South Hams 1947.

I meant mine not the range. They can be made into something decent by proper modellers.

I thought so, but it doesn't look too bad in that pic above, although I suppose it says Ashburton....St. Ives...or wherever but not Tigley a significant junction.

Here you go matey. Only £341.00. Bargain bit of carp.

Or

They had a stall at Warley a couple of years ago - nice stuff if not cheap. But if you rationalise it as the cost of the shed is approximately the same as a new tender loco, it doesn't seem so high?

Two-road version looks just the ticket for Tigley Jct, Robin.

The larger version would only really suit places like Haverfordwest.

Hi Robin

I dont think you use much card on Brent but should you ever consider it, Scalescenes do a very useful, and adaptable, two road shed.

I used it to build a sort of half roundhouse.

This is a heavily modified Metcalfe shed recovered with Scalescene paper and lots of plastic add ons etc

That looks good John. The little canopies on the smoke vents make the biggest difference in my eyes.

Me? Well, I can draw something that vaguely looks like a building..   :paint: But  to call me an architect, no. But thanks for the compliment      :blush_mini:

Nor am I very well versed in the preparation of sausages. I did though visit Haverfordwest on several occasions... does that help?

FMOBs - how much! 1000% profit margin I'll wager, nice looking job though.

The web site items look really smart and do not even reflect the costs of a professionally built item of top class quality. They seem expensive, however they are not really except, of course, if the comparison is with the mass produced plastic, card, plaster products. Then if you can build stuff like Stubby Cornishpisky then these things are expensive. If you are like me then they are expensive, however one is paying for something  that looks pretty good IMO.

John C [Checkrail] of this parish has used the Timber Tracks buildings on Stoke Courtenay.Although at first glance they do seem expensive ,they are aimed at modellers like myself who would struggle to scratchbuild to the same quality but are happy to finish them. You are paying for some individuality in the finished models.

BTW, I can't wait for Andy to point his camera at John's layout.
