allan downes
Here's the main roof of the hotel tiled out and ready for texturing. Cheers. Allan.
allan downes
A Place In The Sun. Check it out. Even tweer than Family Bathrooms would you believe. Today, Mr and Mrs Sunraylotion, retired and loaded are shown a 58 bedroomed Spanish villa overlooking a sink hole full of British drunks. "Ah look Cyril " beamed a road map of a face scorched by the sun and bloated with Botox "It's even got a rockery, how spiffling !" "That " pointed out the tits, teeth and hips collectively known as the programme presenter " Is the Pyrenees but you could put in an offer " And, of course, they did. allan downes
Tiling completed. Next stage, chimneys, down pipes, door knobs ( Yay !) possible extension then it's ready for shelving. Cheers. Allan
RMweb Premium The White Rabbit Posted July 12, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 12, 2015 When 'a small seaside hotel' was mentioned, I thought we were going to be treated to a recreation of Basil's domain. And when Stubby mentioned bathroom windows, I was all agog for references to Australians, psychiatrists and deaf Scotswomen... Perhaps we should hold a whip-round for Allan to subscribe to Gold so he wouldn't be tormented by the drivel that's on 'lifestyle' channels?
Catweasel
As soon as I spotted this from the cable car at the Great Orme, I thought of Alan's projects.
allan downes
Told ya I'd build an extension didn't I ! Found a new way - quite by accident but well planned of course ! - of how to really stress up roof tiles. Whilst the PVA sealing coat is still wet stick it in the microwave on warm setting for three or four minutes and you get what you see here. Just don't tell Robinson. Cheers. Allan.
Mythocentric
Another Downes first, but I hope your Missus doesn't clobber you the next time she catches you lurking around the microwave! Regards Bill
mullie
I couldn't get away with that. Even if SWMBO was out , she'd find out somehow!!!
kandc_au
With my luck, 3 -4 mins under the microwave would have a molten mess of plastic, and me running for my life with the other half in hot pursuit. I wouldn't have time to model anymore as my head would be always turned to watch my back! Khris

Sweven
Superb work as usual Allan - you must have a much larger microwave than I do! Cheers John
Edwardian
Presumably a 4mm scale Mr Robinson beside some 7mm scale chain. I just want that hat.
allan downes
Building a small branchline terminus. Here's the station componants. Gotta get this on a 6ft x 3ft baseboard in O gauge. That should be fun.... Cheers. Allan
allan downes
A cornfield perhaps ? This is some kind of gloved washing aid that the missus found in some supermarket or another. What do you think ? Cheers. Allan

allan downes
Station build progress to day. Wifey went flying over the footstool yesterday in dramatic fashion taking out her hip, side, shoulder, head and wrist. Now I can only model between mollycodling her which inluded galvanising breakfast, carbonising lunch and now dinner and, even as we very speak, flames are leaping out of the kitchen beyond all expectations of the gas board ! Cheers Allan.
Edwardian
Sorry to hear that and hope she is well. Mind you, could be worse; when the Memsahib pulled a similar stunt, she broke a George III tilt-top occasional table. Now it's not even a table occasionally.

allan downes
Got the first bollocking today so the missus is well on the mend. Anyway, here's slow progress on the new station build. Should have it finished tomorrow - providing the missus stays upright ! Cheers Allan and thank you one and all from wifey for your concern. Much appreciated guys.
