Following on from yesterday capture of 37059 fuelling up, I caught the DRS loco working the 0Z37 0901 Norwich C.Pt. T.&R.S.M.D to Doncaster West Yard through Spooner Row this morning.

I caught the return tonight

Eccles Road

37059 and 90009, Diamond Jubilee, on 0Z38, 13:26, Doncaster West Yard - Norwich C.PT. T.&R.S.M.D (18:15) - light engines

A couple of pics from Oban, August 1984.

A no heat 37 could usually be found stabled at Oban station prior to working the tanks.

Thanks. Could I ask how you can identify 37108?

At first I thought it was 37022, seen here departing Oban, then I realised I couldn't possibly have got round to the road  bridge (seen in the background) to take the pic!

37022 also has  headlight in the same position as 37108

108 was also my first reaction; it has the old connecting door plated over (say compared with 37022 you've shown) and oval buffers, and at the time was a WHL regular. Pretty sure that 108 in August 84 would have been unique with plated door, headlight in that location and oval buffers.

Some great nostalgic photos there of the Oban station as I recall it with the old station still standing but out of use. Had two weeks based near Taynuilt in August '84. Happy days.

As 55016 says, 37108 was the only boilered dual braked 37 on the West Highland with plated over front end doors and a headlight offset to the right halfway up the panel.

The only other 37s based in Scotland at the time with plated over doors and boiler fitted were 37025 and 37035. The headlights on these two locos are in different places, 37025 mounted central in the panel slightly higher up, and 37035 mounted on top of the nose.

Thanks for the replies.

I also have another 'unidentified' Scottish 37s in my collection and it has plated over doors. Taken at Motherwell on 11.9.1982.

My notebook shows the following 37s on shed.  156,242,058,056,149,139,117,292,133,188,145,154 and 146. Obviously some of those are centre headcode.

Anyone got an idea which one it is?

Only 56 & 58 of those you noted were splitbox versions, and 58 had plated doors at least at one end so that would be a good bet.

2 more 37s from my tour of Scottish depots on 11th September 1982.

Haymarket, Grangemouth, Eastfield, Polmadie and Motherwell produced a total of 166 locos on that day.  How I wish I'd taken more photos!

Eastfield's 37051 at Polmadie.

Yes, its 37058. I enlarged the photo and can easily read the number. Also 37058 was vacuum only at the time...

Hi all - With 37025 almost ready to return to the main line, here is an interesting one of 37025 hauling an SRPS railtour on the 22nd May 1994.  The train ran from Edinburgh Waverley to Carlisle and back and featured haulage by 37505 and 37510 on the outward leg and Black Five 44767 from Carlisle to Springburn, 237025 took over for the final leg from Springburn to Edinburgh.

As an addition to the above, 37025 hauled it's first post (main line) overhaul train today on the B&KR. Looking splending in freshly applied large logo, but with the class 37 sized logo and not the duff sized version, as seen in the photo!

Interesting, thanks. Have we seen that livery for the LMS Inspection saloon before. If not you may find interested if you repost the photo or a link to it in the Bachmann inspection saloon thread.

Looks like a BR saloon rather than a LMS one
