Evening all,

one from me: a slow day at work so I managed to contrive to be in Lincoln this afternoon, by the crossing on Brayford Wharf, at just the right time to capture 66 740 accelerating westwards on a container train. Makes a nice change from the usual diet of units and coal/oil drags.

Best Wishes,

Paul

66193 leading the 659V 0637 Mountsorrel to Trowse Redland train through the outskirts of Attleborough this morning (11:26)

For info 659V is not the reporting code - that's 6L39 - it's the masked ID, basically on RTT, freight shows this code to "hide" the working and keep it "secret".  The first digit is the class of the train, but the rest is simply a sequential number and a check digit.

GBRF trains have recently started reporting with the correct code. Get on some forums and email lists and you can find the correct code for the trains - you may even bump into me, that's my train which I try and photograph each time it runs. Watch out for the afternoon path - 6L47 - too. (66008 was on L39 today)

A bit late but :

I'm rather puzzled by this working as I can't seem to find it on Realtimetrains.

It shows 66040 passing Patchway yesterday at 11.18. I think it originated at Avonmouth and might be heading for Aberthaw, but I can't find it in the listings.

Anyone got any concrete info on this working please?

Do you mean this one Peter?

http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/H12510/2015/02/16/advanced

The reporting code is 6B68.

Thanks for the information, I'm still new to RTT so still figuring all in the information out! I'm looking forward to seeing the return trip to Mountsorrel once the clocks change, should provide some good daylight conditions.

66009 powering out of Wymondham and into the sunset on the 2nd of March with the 1709 Norwich to Peak Forest Cemex Siding Empty's.

Running as 6M20 - unusual as that's normally the 12:09 off Norwich path, and the afternoon / evening one is 6M58

Here it is arriving in the morning, passing Eccles Road.

i don't normally get to see it due to the earlier running time so thought I would take a punt, I sadly lost the sun about 5 minutes before it went past. I need to pop down to Eccles Road soon.

I brave the early start once the light mornings arrive - I've photographed it a few times at 05:45 ! <yawn>

66602 Freightliner coming off the Middlewich line with 6V82 Tunstead sidings to Westbury Lafarge Cement tanks. It left Tunstead at 1248 which is an hour earlier than usual as it usually arrives 1 hour late at destination due to speed restrictions along the way. It also look like 66602 has been given a good scrub and a fresh coat of paint too.

You're a braver man than me. There's only one 5.45 in my day and it's suffixed by pm.

Cheers,

Mick
