Iron Horse
Playing with my new camera and a million and one different settings I was quite happy with this one earlier today at Casey Lane, South of Crewe 66750 on 6G64 08:00 Liverpool Bulk Tml - Ironbridge Power Station Although maybe this one 66145 on the 04:30 Avonmouth Hanson Sidings - Clitheroe Castle Cement is slightly more artistic? Peter Kazmierczak
Looking at all these Cl.66 images, is anyone making detailed notes about livery changes, eg DB stickers applied to the former EWS Cl.66s? Just thinking of future generations say in 2065 who want a correctly-livered "shed" for their layout based in 2015?
RMweb Premium newbryford Posted May 21, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 21, 2015 Looking at all these Cl.66 images, is anyone making detailed notes about livery changes, eg DB stickers applied to the former EWS Cl.66s? Just thinking of future generations say in 2065 who want a correctly-livered "shed" for their layout based in 2015? Yes - there is a dated list being kept on a well known railway forum. For example - 66099 was done in September 2014. The last update about four weeks ago, lists 66124 as the latest to acquire DB stickers Cheers, Mick
Powerhaul 70 Pey
Went doing a job at the Network Rail site at Carlisle Yard where they recycle the old ballast, crushing it down and reusing for many applications in the construction industry. Took the camera just incase . . . . . . As I drove onto the site i saw the Colas Rail compound with 66849 being loaded with logs. Onto the ballast site after getting waved across the busy loop by the driver of 66510 where alot of the freights are held before rejoining the West Coast Main Line. DRS 66303 was next Followed by GBRF 66746 Then a double-headed Tesco express 66424 on the front 66421 behind it Some of the wagons in the sidings I was thinking of starting my own photo thread with these pics but not brave enough. I get to go to a few rail served industries in the North West of England with work. I then had a drive to find DRS KIngmoor Depot where I saw two more Class 66's. The depot is the other side of the bridge. 66156 with some strange containers Freightliner Class 66 66549 with some empty coal hoppers from Fiddlers Ferry Power Station in Warrington heading to Hunterston Edited May 22, 2015 by Powerhaul 70 Pey
