I assume you mean the brochure not the Cortina? :D

I have a box with quite a few motor show launch brochures tucked away somewhere, I do remember the big thick book Citroen gave away in Paris with the XM launch, must have cost a fortune, a real “coffee table” book.

Carnaby Street in the mid '60s - the Mk1 Mini in two tone black over red is very likely an Austin Super, a shirt lived variant launched at the same time as the 997 Cooper in late '61 with the same trim options but minus the bigger engine, disc brakes etc, but it did get its own 'crinkly' front grille....

Was the first place I lived on my own, well the block out of shot to the right. 7th floor. There was a resident who had a lotus sunbeam, which never moved!

They've just been demolished!

I had noticed when I popped to see my parents over Christmas. Was a bit strange them not being there, but must of been needed. Similar to the old Radio Mast site along the A5, how different that is now. Pity they hadn’t done so

 with Cape Cemex!

I've got fond memories of the Austin Princess. My dad had one, a metallic blue R reg 2200. Nice car, but the paint finish was pants, it needed a respray at barely a year old.

2-door saloons of that size were becoming increasingly rare by then. Much more common in Mk.1 Cortinas.

When you think though there were also 2 door versions of the cavalier in mk1 and 2 guises both of those were quite rare too

Progressively rarer as the Marks progressed. 2-door Mk2s weren't unusual. 2-door Mk3s drew comment, I only knew of a couple locally. Beyond that I don't remember seeing any....

There were two door Mk I & II Granada's as well (not the coupes). But they were not sold in the UK only in Germany. They were also offered with a 1.5 litre V4 later the 1.6 litre Pinto engine. Somewhat underpowered so perhaps losing the weight of the two extra doors helped.

A friend here had a 'Wide Mouth Frog' Granada Scorpio Cosworth - I've never seen another.  Are they real?

A lady I used to work with years ago has one, in maroon, and it's still in regular use AFAIK.

It's a real contender for worst-looking car ever made, but she apparently won't consider driving anything else.....
