I rather like that. If something similar was available for the Fiat Scudo (or its Peugeot or Citroen siblings) I'd be seriously tempted as a publicity vehicle for the little pottery that MrsB and I run.

I don't think that there was anything of that sort of size in the Citroen range back then. It went straight from the 2CV van to the H, nothing in-between, unlike Renault who had the Estafette.

I think it might be possible to recreate a 2CV van replica from a Berlingo although it would need a lot of bits moving around.

Can't you just screw some corrugated plastic to the flat side and door panels? B&Q also do some "corrugated" wallpaper.

You only need to get the look to deceive the customers, they wouldn't know what the real thing was anyway.

My brother stopped by today to pick up a metal cabinet for use with the preservation group he is with...the EPB preservation group I think. Anyway someone left a load of stuff with them for sale. Among them were lots of postcards, reprints of old postcards and adverts. among them were these car related ones. And a bit of a cheeky cheat, some for Corgi & Dinky toys but still car related

You have to admire the graphic artists of that era. They didn't let a tedious thing like scale restrict their artistic expression.

I had to drop my car off at my daughter's place in St.Ives this afternoon. Heading out of Chatteris over the Fens I spotted something unusual ahead. Turned out to be this beauty:

Very much of the times,  Dad, proud of his new car, attractive Mum and the kids speeding along all laughing and smiling.  It was the same in US ads, only the cars were different.

A new bloke in the old farts bike club has a Buckler - IIRC he is a distant relation of the late Mike Hailwood's wife, who was a relation of the Bucklers.  Must try to photograph it when I'm in operating condition again, as opposed to being operated on.  It's a sort of open wheeled hillclimb special.

Good weather is bringing out the interesting cars.

Our neighbour has been out and about in his vintage cars over the weekend but my favourite is the pristine 1969 Alfa Guilia saloon that I passed near Cranborne this morning. White with red and green racing stripes. Nearly 50 years old and running beautifully unlike the 17 registration Renault Megane waiting for the AA man.

Dad went out one day to buy a Lada. He came back with a Fiat Mirafiori.

I vaguely remember the telly advert campaign for the Supermirafiori, which had the uprated saloon in a cage - the idea being to convey all that latent power (95hp or so) straining to be let loose.

Not so much an old car but a piece of motoring memorabilia I've restored for my classic garage forecourt I'm creating outside my garage

I'm now on with my next project a late 50s/early 60s petrol pump

Here's a picture of the oil dispenser

This my good man is 'A Jolly Good Thing Indeed' and should be encouraged..! I had a tidy up in my garage last week and found all my old number plates which I'll be fitting to the walls once I get them boarded up, I've also got some Lambo, Ferrari and Maserati shields done in vinyl (each about two foot high bought on Amazon) to put up somewhere when I can find some space for them.

Another quick stab of nostalgia...

Out of the blue via another car forum I'm on a complete stranger has offered me a drive in his Dino 308GT4.... this may well end in tears, divorce or both but I'm game...!

Citroen GS was available as a van
