Nice find this, behind the camera in the Ferrari factory during the filming of 'Grand Prix' in 1966, with James Garner as driver 'Pete Aron' and Adolfo Celli as the 'Enzo Ferrari' based character...

In Penzance there's an original H Type Van (I think), selling coffee etc.,

As it's on a draughty corner, no chairs or tables and served in cardboard cups,

I can only assume the cost of a cup of coffee at £2.60 is to help pay for the mortgage of the Van.

Those Hills plates are nice. But Hills are impossible to deal with when you want a pair of proper plates. They flatly refuse to sell the original style plates for my GPO van.

I'm thinking that I might have to draw the letters out and make the plates in styrene......

At the NEC show last Friday one of the plate vendors had some old Hills and Bluemels digits for sale, and a few old backing plates too, I think they were called 'Numberplates 4U'.

A quick burst of motoring based nostalgia before I nip off to earn some 'Lamborghini tokens for daydreamers'...

I seem to recall that a few people have been able to be buried with their cars.

Is that like being built into motorway bridges, or drowning while wearing concrete boots, or is it something that they actually want to happen?

I think it was specified. The car had to be drained of all fluids and the much enlarged grave had to have a concrete base to take the car.

Need a weird old French van to sell your organic artisan sandwiches from, but don't want to run an actual weird old French van?

Here is a solution:

I rather like that. If something similar was available for the Fiat Scudo (or its Peugeot or Citroen siblings) I'd be seriously tempted as a publicity vehicle for the little pottery that MrsB and I run.
