travelintrev
Few more photo's of Crabbys, I wont be doing any more to it now until it gets back to the UK, (It does fold flat so will fit inside my laptop bag!) The wood is either wooden coffee stirrers "acquired" from various coffee shops at airports, or natural weathered (10 months in West African climate) de-laminated 8mm ply.. The coffee stirrers were stained with Dark Soy Sauce.....! Trev. Douglas G
Stunning modelmaking Douglas, how's your eyesight ?!! Cheers. Allan. Thanks Allan. That's a good question about my eyesight! I am now over 50 and it is becoming an issue Getting a daylight anglepoise magnifier last year has made a big difference, and using my reading glasses while modelling also helps. But it isn't as easy as it was when I first started my buildings for Dulverton, ten years ago... BTW, there are some more buildings on my Dulverton thread: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/46817-dulverton-in-n-carnarvon-arms-hotel/ Douglas Edited August 22, 2013 by Douglas G
marc smith
Apologies that I've just posted this pic on my steelworks layout threadBut just in case you missed it there....Most of the buildings in this scene are scratchbuiltThe gable fronted building isn't - it's actually a Skytrex industrial building, intended for O gaugeBut a bit of creative painting etc....The other buildings are low-relief effortsSome are made from Slaters 7mm corrugated ironsome from a 2nd hand, re-built, re-painted Peco Loco depotwith knightwing and scratchbuilt walkways & other detailsI usually set the scene at night....and being a Welshman - in the rain! PS. I play rain sound effects when exhibiting this little layoutthe scenic section of which is just over 3 feet long EDIT: Oh, and plenty of Wills corrugated iron & asbestos are used too......along with plastruct tubing for pipework etc Edited August 27, 2013 by marc smith

freebs
Campaman, what an absolutely fantastic job you've made of that. Some lovely texture sheets you've used too. Is that one of your signal boxes I spy in the background? The texture sheets apart from the roof are all home made, yes the signal box will appear soon, its my model of a local box that my grandfather used to work in. Thanks Andy. Campaman
I will stick some up into a Dropbox folder and will start a new thread in the Card Modelling forum with links to some as I think that is probably the best place for them. I will start with the stone paper that I used for the building above. If anyone else has any they have created and wants to share you can send them to me and I can add them to the Dropbox folder. marc smith
That pictures amazing! What do you use for the light grass? Thanks hornbyandbf3fan, It's static grass, applied with a cheapo electric flyswat / teastrainer applicator It's a mix of brands - I just chose the deadest looking colours I could find..... Some of them are from a wargaming supplier on ebay I just asked the sellers which were their palest, most scorched looking fibres... Cheers again Marc
RMweb Premium Jason T Posted September 7, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 7, 2013 Most of my larger buildings are posted elsewhere, lots of times, so I won't pop them in here but I have included a couple of sheds that I knocked together one afternoon. Both Plastikard (hand-scribed planks), covered with sandpaper for the roof felt. I even put a plant pot on the shelf inside That window looks a bit big; I may revisit it and add a couple more frames
alant
A new building I have recently competed. Nothing too exciting, an old cobblers shop based on a real building which used to stand in Chilwell village, Nottingham.
