The loco could be 47114John

47114 certainly had the black headcode panel, but every photo I can find if it has the number 114 on the front to the right of the headlight, from when it gained RfD diamonds (1994?) to gaining the m.u. socket (1996).

Is the Tinsley 47, 47217 Kingfisher?

Simon

It looks like it just might be 217, i've blown it up best i can and i can just see a 17 at the end. Another unknown 47 from Warrington on the Sunday drags by the look of it. The one Yellow painted head code box light surround might make it identifiable?

I had a feeling Owd Bob's Westbury 47 must be identifiable:

I think 47627 City of Oxford fits the bill based on front wear and tear and shape of name.

Cheers Simon, too many brews and too many tabs' and too much head bangin' over the years make for a very fast fading memory, :D  I must agree the worn White patches look identical. :mail: Whilst i'm here heres a few more from an open day by the look of it......maybe Toton Aug '98?

Can’t see an ETH receptacle above the buffer beam on any of those three, so not 511.

If this photo was taken between Jan and March 1993, then it could be 47490 before it became Resonant.

Dover June 1994. ... far from their home depot at the time....like i was! :)

Dover saw 47s from all over on ferry traffic, I suspect because the SR didn't have an allocation of their own at that period. Some time or other, I'll have to dig out a list of what I spotted on Kentish ferry wagon traffic in the early 80s and look up their allocations.

Photos c/o Nick Tozer - Paddington, 8th September 1985...

Just behind that coach on platform 1 was the staff canteen, down a few steps IIRC. Of course on the floor above it was the salaried staff canteen, same kitchen joined by a  small service lift, but they didn't have plastic seats up there. Memories of my time on Padd ODM......
