Doughnut
Well, many moons since the last update, but finally got most of the Townscene done; just a Supermarket to install now. Will be getting some more vids done, now the layout's up and running again. Got a P-way train made up now too, with Falcons, IOA's and Seacows. Also my latest buy.....the bargain Hornby Blue/grey VEP....just couldnt resist it and looks great in multiple with the Bachman CEP, even though it's not in my timeframe,it just looked too good to miss and will be brought out now and then, when a BR Blue mood takes me. hybridangel77
This is brilliant stuff as always Dave, are those red brick and white house ready to plant houses or scratch built as i am about to start my town/urban scene and not sure if i want to go down the scratch build route as it will take forever. Doughnut
Many thanks gents. PIc. 9 shows the concrete foundations for the Supermarket, next to the already laid carpark and with the 'Brookside' housing estate behind it. Just worried the supermarket might blot out the houses next to it?? But we'll see. The houses Terry are Hornby and Bachmann, ready built...the red brick ones are the Hornby Pen-Y-mop type......(odd name), which I dont think they produce now, but can still be had from various shops. I agree, to scratch build them, would have taken me an age....just installing curtains & lights took its time. Alas, as discussed on another thread in DCCSound, one of my 2 Intercity expresses is out of action....the sound chip on the GNER Class 91 seems to have gone. Just leaves the Pendo now to do the long distance expresses. Feeling a bit gutted, to say the least. Hopefully Mr Biffo might have a look at it for me? Fingers crossed! hybridangel77
When my layout grows up this is what it aspires to be!!! or could I just have yours? Postage would be a killer ! Your going to have to fight me for it first mate lol. Dave, what do you use to make your white marker lines on the road surface....are they stickers or painted? they look very nice and crisp and i always have issues getting mine to look right. Doughnut
Cheers chaps. If you can get a Chinook to come and winch it out, it's yours TBF!! Terry, the road markings are transfers. Got some of those Crafty computer transfer sheets, White, and cut them into strips with sharp knife and ruler. Then put them on the road using Microsol & Microset. When dry, paint over everything with matt varnish. I did use a white paint pen for the carparking spaces, to save bit of time and they didnt come out too bad.
