Doughnut
Thankyou. Yes, it draws from both ECML & WCML. And yes, the inner circuit is 3rd rail. I like all the regions, they all have something to offer when modelling. Era wise, as I have 3 GNER express trains, 225, 125 & Eurostar, I suppose it's strictly 2003 - 2007-ish ECML. But there's a Pendolino and 2 Desiros so it has a modern WCML element in it too. Dave K
Doughnut
Just added another Signal gantry. The signals are of the new type (ie LED - just like the model), 3 & 4 aspect. Bi-coloured Red/Yellow LED's used with just the right amount of resistance to get the correct tone of yellow, as well as green. 1 & 2 position Feathers are made with white miniature surface mounted LEDs. With a bit of height added to the foundation, I've managed to get the traction wire just below the level of the lowest signal cage. Not looking forward to the wiring up phase. corax67
I have enjoyed the pics of your layout immensely and this morning I found myself looking at the OLE on the high speed line alongside the M20, silhouetted against the dawn sky. Never really noticed them until you began posting this thread but there is a strange beauty and delicacy in the design.
Doughnut
Thankyou. Yes, get the right sky behind them and I know what you mean. A dawn sky would be perfect. Dave K

Doughnut
Many thanks. Great layout Tynsleyfield. Were you inspired by the Sheffield depot, with similar name? Dave K
Removed a/c
Thanks. I had never even heard of the depot until I got back into the hobby just a couple of years ago. I actually took the name from my Nans street Tynsley (court) and the field came from Dronfield where I lived before coming to Canada.

jonathan452
Awesome. As long as the wires don't come down on top of a Class 350 in the tunnel as they did at Watford this morning.

GWC1
Superb OLE - well done. Is the layout portable for exhibitions? If so, I'd like to book it!

Doughnut
Still beavering away, tonight, on the station over-roof; nearly done. And have added the necessary column supports to the platforms, for it to sit on. Other bits and bobs too, such as positioning the suburban platform signals. Doughnut
Managed to do a few signals today,as Ive run out of parts for the roof. Nothing special, just 3 x Ekon 2-aspects and Traintronics 3 & 4 aspects signals. Still have to weather all of them though. M10 is on the main line, whereas the others are station starters. Doughnut
Just finished the roof installation and surrounding scenery. This station is a bigger job than I thought. Just need to wire up the station OHLE and add the platform lights. The roof is LED lit, seperately. Edited December 4, 2013 by Doughnut
