Doughnut
Yes a fair point. If necessary though, I can just transfer the rollers to the track behind.
Doughnut
Have completed the dive-under/ramp retaining walls this week and some overhead lights installed on it. Track weathering to be done next. Dave Edited February 28, 2014 by Doughnut

28XX
Like the brutalist multi-story car park. Echos the aesthetic of the ole. Is it Kit or scratch?
yorkie_pudd
The stressed weathered look of the wall is stunning and can almost see / feel the render about to crack peel off.
Doughnut
Hi Terry, Bobster, the walls are MDF, 3mm, cut to shape, then sprayed with Plasticoate suede and painted with Acrylic Black, white, tan, green, brown mixture. Always follow Glebe Road. Many thanks Armley & Kal, watch your layouts avidly too...top stuff! Afraid I have to admit to using Bachmann for the Carpark, but like you say 28 xx, it does go with the bleak modernity of an OHLE layout, nicely! I had to peel off a price tag from the MDF which after spraying & painting, does give a look of peeled concrete, I agree Ken. Many thanks. yorkie_pudd
nice work on the down under line, agree be nice to see a train disappear or emerge from the cutting as another train passes the opposite direction.
Doughnut
Thanks, yes, looking forward to seeing that myself. Will have a 3-aspect signal at top of ramp to allow for movements onto the main line. Although perhaps a call-on signal would be more realistic?? yorkie_pudd
The Stationmaster, Signalman or other rail folk will know the correct answer for you, as I know nowt about that side. green = Go red= Stop orange = Jaffa cake / cuppa time

Doughnut
Thanks. Looking forward to trying out DCC sound for the first time too, as 10 of my locos are sound chipped. Would have more but the sound chips are still very expensive. Still, it'll be wonderfully noisy!!! Dave
George Leacon
Thanks, yes, looking forward to seeing that myself. Will have a 3-aspect signal at top of ramp to allow for movements onto the main line. Although perhaps a call-on signal would be more realistic?? Dave You'd need a main aspect signal, not a call-on signal. If this ramp line can access multiple other lines, you could have some Junction Indicators (aka "feathers") to indicate onto which line the train has been signalled. Doughnut
Many thanks Ben. Yes the ramp line can access the line to which it is directly joined and the Up Fast line adjacent to it. So perhaps a feather might be required for the Up Fast? Dave
class"66"
Looking forward to some loco pictures!!
Doughnut
Looking forward to some loco pictures!! Yes, me too. It's definately getting towards that stage, but still quite a few things to do. To the right of that concrete retaining wall/ramp will be another 5 track terminus station, to the left will be a platform and another platform on the other side of the 5 track mainline, with connecting bridge. The wiring up will be the last thing to do, so when that's done......it'll be time for the grand opening.....ribbon cutting and all that. Doughnut
Another week, another bit further on. This week has been mainly weathering the 5 track mainline and ramp line, weathering the concrete retaining wall built last week and adding some necessary 'artwork' to it. Also made a start on the back wall retaining wall. I had ordered some ready made ones, but they never materialised so, using some foamboard, slaters embossed and some mdf for the arches, I decided to have a go at making them myself. Trying to get the weathered sandstone block effect. Still got to finish the coping stones, then install the whole thing.
