Guest
Thanks! How's the guy removing coming on? I'm going to try later probably, with T-cut, using a dry-brushing technique! I can only hope I don't muck it up! By the Way, you refered to Twright as Matt!

RMweb Premium maq1988 Posted February 20, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 20, 2014 Brilliant stuff here, I particularly like the way the powders have created depth in the panel edges on the mineral wagons. I apologise if this has been answered before but when you are applying the powders do you apply them straight on the rolling stock 'as new from box' or do you put of thin layer of adhesive down first (paints, glues etc)? Martin Thanks Martin! Glad you like my work! All straight onto the model, then once I have the desired tone I give the model a quick spray with Humbrol Matt Varnish to hold them all on. The 16 tonner is the only one where I do add an advise to the body before powders. I use a mixture of Matt Coat and Thinners to hold to powders to the wagon, before I repaint it grey and then revel the rust patches (if that makes sense ). SDJR7F88
The latest picture slide show video, featuring the two mineral wagons above. Sadly there will now no longer be a running video at the end, featuring all the stock, as I ran into a few problems whilst filming today. Very sorry about that. Any way please enjoy this little slideshow.
SDJR7F88
The final loco of the 2nd batch, the Bachmann 45xx! Felt at home doing this one, considering she is exactly the same model as my first attempt at weathering a loco! Here's some pictures of her, plus I can confirm a running video of the whole batch is on the way too! Please tell me what you think!

SDJR7F88
The 2nd weathering batch was collected today and the own loves them! He does how ever want me to dirty up the the Collett Goods a touch more, especially around the rods and wheels. So she has stayed back, along with the 3rd batch of stock. Here's some pictures of the whole fleet before they head off home (part from the Collett Goods of course ).

SDJR7F88
Looking great mate! Glad to know the owner likes them! Well done. Thanks Guys! Shame about the Collett though, but hope to get that sorted before I start the others. Don't think this will be a while though, as I want a bit of a break to do some work on the layout. SDJR7F88
Been spending some time with my own trains for a change! Meaning I have been having a bit of a break from the weathering. I'm staring at box and bag containing the 3rd Batch now! I have how ever just touched up the Collett Goods from the 2nd Batch (which the owner said he would like a bit more dirty). She now looks a lot more hard worked, but still had a lot of trouble getting the powders one her, like the first time round, but got there in the end! I hope to get some picture of her slightly more dirty look soon. In the mean time I will be continuing work I started on the layout just before I got the 1st Batch!
