Pete 75C
Good grief. I look away for a minute and you're cracking on. At this rate you'll be finished soon! As always, nice work. Pete. BTW, don't let anyone tell you a bus on a bridge is a cliche. Bridges are just crying out to have a bus on them...
georgeT
Hello Pete / Jock, Thanks again, l started 'Ashcombe' as a bit of a crusade to get rid of all the bits and pieces we all keep in drawers and boxes to use but never do, so l decided to use up anything l had spare, so with the building like the brewery is made up of odd bits of plasticard, all thats really cost me is track, points and stock, but there again most of that was paid for by selling my O gauge. the brewery is no fixed, its just to see how it looks.. Jock l have spoken to Bodgit and as you say he is a light brighter and he says his sight is getting better, great news Regards George PS while searching my drawers l found another bus, so l have two buses on the bridge, who cares for cliche's hahaha...... Andrew P
Morning mate, yes re our conversation earlier, I ca see much better today, I hope it stays that way. The pics do look good, I do like the Brewery idea, it will generate, Van's, Coal, Open Wagons, Grain Wagons, and Water Wagons so loads of action for the yard. RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted August 2, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 2, 2014 PS while searching my drawers l found another bus, so l have two buses on the bridge, who cares for cliche's hahaha...... Typical, you wait ages and ages for a bus, and then two turn up at once Nice job on the Brewery, I really like the relief you've added to the walls. georgeT
Morning Al, Alway the same never changes, l have been driving a buses for nearly 40 years in different parts of the country and it really happens all the time, in manchester l drive the 192 and that runs every 3mins and when you get held up with problems we have up to 5 to 6 buses running together, may be l'd better get a couple more for the bridge...hahaha Engine shed staff moaned at me that there was no where to store the oil lamps etc, so l built them a shed........ Andrew P
Hey George that Shed looks just right set back into the embankment, I would have thought it would have had a Felt roof though, how about some Masking Tape on the roof and paint with Enamel and it will / should dry with a broken crackley finish. Bodge, trying NOT to interfere. hahhahah
RMweb Premium Ray H Posted August 2, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 2, 2014 I think their next moan will be the lack of a fire (and therefore a chimney) for the colder days, not to mention there not being chairs and tables to sit on outside during the summer! BTW wish my scenics looked as good as yours.
georgeT
Hello Ray, Andy, Bob, Thanks, Never say that l don't listen, so with Bodgit advice l have made the roof out of masking tape and painted with acrylic black, when dry l will add a chimney (thanks Ray), Hobbycraft (Decoart) acrylic paint in lots of colours £1.42 for a big pot, idea if you like mixing your colours BARGAIN George, PS Ray, look at Bodgits work on 'Trebudoc' and the videos, thats where l found most of my scenic tips... RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted August 2, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 2, 2014 It's the lady's pink bloomers in the background that really make the picture, George. Great little hut, BTW.

Jock67B
Don't know how you do it so quickly George, I was only away from the computer for 5 hours! Great work as usual, Kind regards, Jock. PS that Bodge knows a trick or two eh? Hahahaha!
Andrew P
Not enough tricks Jock, George taught me a lot and then I changed them to suit my needs and then he pinched them back, we've always bounced ideas off each other since the day we met at Eastleigh Station about 100 years ago, hahha. He really has done a cracking job this time but don't tell him I said so or he won't get his head out of the door AGAIN, hahhaha Bodge.
georgeT
Hello Ian, Ray, Nestor, Andy and Jock, thanks for the encouragement guys it really keeps me going, have done a bit more to the brewery and it stands not fixed on the layout. Seems like 200 years Andy, hahaha, really guys the knickers are not mine ? mine are red hahaha George
georgeT
Needed to make a hard standing for the goods bay at the brewery, so as some have said how they like the step by step guide here we go, started with mixing some poly-filler then mixed in some black acrylic paint to give me a grey finish, then spread it carefully, and then levelled it out......
