Robatron86
No progress as yet chap. More repaints and weathering jobs on the go. I can offer a pretty picture as a consolation prize? I did pick up a few bits whilst out shopping yesterday, which I hope to get done this weekend.
DanielB
Looooovely. You're making me want to get more Santa Fe liveried diesels. I'm thinking about getting an SD40-2, but I've got so many six axled locos already. Suggest something else Rob, you've got loads of pretty locos I could look to replicate! Robatron86
They are extremely photogenic. I personally have a soft spot for GP38-2's. I have 2, with a 3rd on the way. What about F45's and FP45's? Big car body 6 axles. Or S2's and S4's.
DanielB
Not a fan of the F45's truth be told. I'm leaning towards an SD40-2 to be honest - easy to find and pretty common these days. Any other suggestions?
Robatron86
I'm after an SD40-2, but Cackmann keep moving the release date back. U33C? You already have a U25B. Perfect shed mate. Any of the GP series are solid workhorses. GP9, 30, 35, 38-2, 40. Or an SW series switcher.

DanielB
It's the 'done' part that you appear to be struggling with.

Robatron86
Hi all, Bought this AHM SW-1 at the weekend for a tenner. It is a runner, bit rough around the edges. After an evening's work: Bit freelance, actually very freelance, but it fits in nicely. Thanks for looking.
DanielB
Good lord man you put my re-paints to shame!
Robatron86
You are far too kind. I wouldn't look at it too closely, as it just passes the 3 foot rule! It has been given a coat of Humbrol's Clear Cote and is now looking very respectable. The U33C is nearly complete and then it's on to the Spectrum GP30, which was given it's base coat of yellow ages ago.
Robatron86
I have been doing some small detail work on the shed.
DanielB
Nice! That's what my buildings need - detailing. Though that job is waaaaaaay down the list of things to do.

Robatron86
Thanks Daniel, it was way down my list too, but it was all I could do with most of my modelling gear in boxes at the time!

Robatron86
Hi all, Just thought I would post up my latest in progress. Starts with this: An Atlas GP7. As pretty as SOO paintwork is, it doesn't really fit with my Santa Fe stock. I had decided to repaint it to go alongside my H16-44 So, primer and coat of all black: Then I thought: Do I order the transfers from the US, or do I try the striping myself? I decided to give it a go. Some of the mad angles involved round the cab. Where I am now. Still a fair bit to go around the back and other side. But for now, that is all. Allegheny1600
Hi Rob, That GP7 really is looking good, kudos for doing it yourself! I'm liking the look of the layout too, well done fella. Cheers, John E.

I had decided to repaint it to go alongside my H16-44 So, primer and coat of all black.... Rob Good grief, man - how could you...????!!!!???? what a heartless destruction of the True Colors!!! I feel quite ill, now - I'll have to go & have a lie down....... Your repaint is actually very good you just should have done it on something else
shortliner
Jordan - probably a good thing you didn't see my all-black UBTX leaser Geep at TVNAM - guess what livery that started out as? Sorry, mate!
Robatron86
Thanks John. I decided to go for it rather than fork out the $32 minimum spend plus shipping from Microscale. And I was fed up of doing yellow warbonnets! I knew you would take offense Jordan , but it had to be done. It's the only GP7 I have. I saw the black Geep, never would have guessed Jack
