RMweb Gold Popular Post NHY 581 Posted February 16, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 16, 2021 (edited) To bring the thread up to speed, here are a few more victims....... A Hornby B2 Peckett. Next project will be a goods yard inspired by the Wisbech and Upwell. I've started on the buildings. A small cottage. The main goods office. The small hut for the yard. Even the notice board gets the treatment..... Next layout after the W&U will be a small ex Great Eastern branch line terminus. The buildings will be timber and I will be looking for a tired, run down appearance. A practice was had with a Wills planked sheet. Painted then weathered using powders, sealed then distressed with a fibre brush. Finally, a revisit to an old friend. An Oxford Die-cast Austin 7. And that's that for now... Rob. RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted February 23, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 23, 2021 (edited) Morning all. This has been posted elsewhere but added here to bring things up to date...... These are the results of a revisit, made in light of the above woody experiments, to the Oxford six plank wagon which pops up earlier in the thread. Rob. woodenhead
I always thought the Airfix 5 plank was a nice model, looks even nicer suitably weathered I see. They seemed to do very fine wagons back in the day, let down by an odd class 31 with half a wheel missing and something about the Royal Scot that didn't quite measure up to Palitoy's attempt (in my opinion). 1
RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted August 10, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 10, 2021 (edited) Morning all, Not much in the way of weathering going on. However, here is a new image of a Hornby Maunsell rebuilt brake coach which pops up in a few of the earlier photos. Rob. It could be sold at exhibitions and maybe give the proceeds to a charity of choice or for yourself to fund further work. Just a thought. 1 2

Will it be like those magic books that you colour in with water... I ruined my original Led Zepplin "In Through The Out Door" inner sleeve which was the same as that by trying to "colour" it in. I'm much better since I discovered Black Flag though.

RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted February 11, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 11, 2023 Well, it's been a while. Firstly, I couldn't help but notice that the last post on here was made by Grahame Hitchen who passed away all too soon just over twleve months ago, last month. A very skilled modeller and a much missed friend to many. There's been a bit done weathering wise and the building of a new layout ! Fittingly though, we open the new post with an image of a Pannier and brake van at Sheep Dip. Both loco and b/v were donated by Grahame and both are now much treasured.
