My 47975 has just arrived, less than 24 hours than I ordered it from Bachmann.

Now that is good service rolleyes.gif

T-T

Ordered mine on Friday, has just arrived this morning!

Nicely packaged, with no hint of any damage to the loco box.

Certificate looks nice, very similar to the ModelZone 4 Cep.

My 47 975 runs beautifully straight from the box.

I concur with your comments. That is excellent service.

Looking forward to Windor Castle being released

I wonder if 'Windsor Castle' might become the next Bachmann Collectors Club limited edition?

I don't normally post the same thing in more than one thread but in case someone is only watching this one (and it is the most relevant one!):

Bachmann's 47835 "Windsor Castle" in Swallow livery now available for ordering on their website:

http://www.Bachmann..../index.php?id=4

I shall have a look at Ally Pally tomorrow to check they have got the white colour correct on the lower part of the body, as this had been painted grey/brown on the display model at Warley.

Are these likely to be available at the Bachmann stand at Ally Pally as I rather fancy a 47975 in Dutch and as I am going there anyway saves me the P&P, assuming that is there are any left when I get there on Sunday!!

I've also got a funny feeling that the fuel tanks/battery boxes are not right, looking at the photo of the loco on the Bachmann website. Can anyone confirm that I'm right or wrong. It's a pity if it is incorrect. Tony.

Yes the underframe tanks are wrong as they should be the long range twin tank versions which Bachmann don't currently do on any models unless the 57/3 are suitable?

The pic on the Bachmann website of the model has the tank and boiler arrangement (Tanks around both battery boxes).

But from those pics posted it seems as though the Number 2 end battery box has a tank around it and the Number one end Battery box is on it's own, Either way it seems that Bachmann are good at having these detail differences on the class 47's so far!!! (Marker lights and sealed beam versions are all correct and correct ends so far!)

As for the Bachmann site model pic this is never the finished product so I wouldn't read to much into what you see, yes they don't "yet" do that version or an all tanks versions but I am sure when they have a loco which requires the correct arrangement they will fit what is required? I hope they are reading these posts and put the correct tanks on? if not write to them and send pics?

My only gripe is the body and buffer beam at the front is separate when they are not in real life the Modelzone 47573 is obvious in the yellow paint, the gap and the depth of the beam to body lip is large but the rest of the model looks great. (some mid 1980's Banger Blues with head lights please Mr Bachmann!)

The postman has just delivered my 47835 and I am happy to report that the loco does carry the correct livery with a white lower bodyside, however it does have the wrong underframe tanks as it is fitted with the original boiler water ones (as per the models of 47406, 47461, 47474 etc). Overall though it is probably one of the most impressive class 47's so far from Bachmann. :)

hi everyone

as some of you mite know i work for modelzone i have been asked to post this email i got regarding this class 47

kind regards daz

As the Specialist Operations Manager at Modelzone, I am responsible for the selection and commissioning of all Modelzone Limited Edition Railway items. I would just like to take the opportunity to clarify the situation regarding the Bachmann Dutch class 47 which seems to be regarded as a cancelled Modelzone Exclusive.

Modelzone have only ever commissioned two class 47 locomotives, Stratford ‘Union Jack’ 47163 and NSE 47573 The London Standard. The Dutch liveried 47975 has never been considered as a Modelzone Exclusive, and we have not ‘cancelled’ this item, as we never ordered it, and can only assume it was cancelled by another retailer.

Hopefully this will clarify the situation regarding 47975.

My 47975 arrived in rather amusing circumstances yesterday afternoon:

post-6910-127072927328_thumb.jpg

The local DHL delivery chap pulls his van up alongside me just as I am about to go into the depot and says he has a parcel for me, promptly handing over this mysterious cardboard box for which I duly signed and thanked him.

Rolling into the crew rest room a few moments later brought the inevitable questions of what is in the box and I actually did not know (Assumed the loco was coming by Royal Mail you see) so opened it. Cue several members of Southern's finest train crew duly admiring my shiny new loco.

No doubt that news will be in the Late Notice Case by now...

I nearly took it all the way to London Victoria by the way!!

Both models are now available from Hattons, so perhaps not selling as fast as Bachmann expected. At least you can buy more than one now.

Just noticed this afternoon, Rails are now selling these aswell. May have to pick one up from Hattons when I visit there in the next few days.

Cheers

Simon
