And tomorrow your whole day will be taking calls from model railway mag journalists asking for more...

They are equally in the dark. (Well, a couple know about project 2, but that's about it!) So, yep you're probably right on that one!

:swoon:

Do you guys ever sleep?

Ah sleep. How I miss it....

It's probably all down to the medicinal powers of that processed Liffey water stuff ;).  :jester:

Processed ? ........... I'm sure they just pump it out, filter out the shopping trolleys an' dead dogs then stick it in a barrel : the REAL taste of Ireland !  ( Can't wait to get back in May ! )

Judging by the way I feel after the weekend I’m certain it contains the opposite of medicinal powers! Thankfully it’s a bank holiday here today!

I've just told the wife that I think this is the first 2 day hangover I've ever had. Must have been drinking the same stuff.

Now we're back to a 'somewhat' normal state, I can let you know that while we unfortunately will not be at Ally Pally this weekend, our pre-production HUO will be on the Model Rail Baseboards stand if anyone wants a look! It's stand 98!

Our good friend Dave is the owner of the company and has kindly agreed to display it on his stand this weekend. Drop by and say hi and have a look, but if you have any queries after having a look at the sample please email us at info@accurascale.co.uk as Dave wont be able to answer them as I'm sure you guys can appreciate!

We do plan to have a stand at the 2019 show. :)

Lucky to get my hands on one of the samples today. Exquisite detail, designed for quick and simple conversion to the finer scales. A model to set new standards without them saying so.

So can I justify any in the London / Oxford or southern bits of GC area in the 60s?

Delectable things indeed and in fact the brake gear looked better positioned in the 'flesh' than it did in the pics on here although still not quite right.  Regrettably they are well out of area for me in the period that interests me and apart from some specialised flows I think the same might apply to the overall 'London area' while Oxford would be right out of it in their earlier years.

Thanks for the kind words guys! Hopefully we get to meet you at a show later this year.

Actually on the brake gear, we are due samples with corrected brake gear and pocket height this week (might also be decorated!) so watch this space...

Would these be seen in a train with 16T mineral wagons and the new 24.5T mineral wagons (as announced by TMC at the weekend)?

Hi PrestburyJack,

We've seen quite a few photos of them running in mixed rakes with 21t and 24.5t mineral wagons, but none of them running with 16t examples.

Another milestone has been reached by Accurascale in our first British outline project as we received our first decorated samples of our forthcoming HOP 24.

The decorated samples shown in accompanying photographs are from pack B, which features the branding, “Load only to Stella North or South Dunston or Blyth Power Stations”. They also display the individual running numbers, lettering and detailing characteristics which will feature across each of the 15-wagon release that will make up the first Accurascale release in pre-TOPS ‘HOP24’ guise.

The wagons are finished in BR freight grey and are 'ready to weather', featuring details such as authentic tatty black lettering panels, a distinctive feature of these wagons. All wagons offered in the Accurascale range are based on comprehensive photographs of the individual prototypes.

Refinement of the tooling has also been completed, with the brake gear modified and the NEM pocket moved to correct height. With these revisions complete the model will now progress to production in the coming weeks, with a delivery date of Q2 2018 for this first production run.

Over 25% of the first HOP24 production run have been sold already, with the rake deal of 15 individually numbered wagons for £275 proving very popular. These are made up of five packs of three wagons and they are only available to purchase directly from our website.

Also, please excuse the pic quality. Professional photographer I am not! :)

Thanks for that; best I order some Hoppers from you and 24.5T mineral wagons from TMC then!

With your proven track record with Irish stock we expected nothing less than the sublimely precise and detailed product shown above. Congrats on getting the first UK product off the ground. The high standards you have achieved to date have pushed expectations to a new level. Your team of four should be rightly proud of their achievements to date. You continue to raise the bar.

How easily do the coupling mounts/boxes remove, and when removed does it leave the chassis unecumbered?

Hi Mike,

They would require a scalpel to cut the box out but it wouldnt affect the detail elsewhere on the underframe. It's plastic too so shouldn't take too much effort.

Hope this helps.

Fran

Those do look awesome Fran - order already placed!

Just a thought - will the wheels be that shiny bright?

CHeers

Phil

Thanks Phil!

I think their brightness is down to me and my haplessness with a camera, they are chemically blackened and look okay in person but I’ll see if we can get the factory to dial them down a bit more!
