I have an entire train of condemned unfitted wagons with a brakevan at either end, specially authorised to run single journey from "the Midlands" to "a scrapyard on the South Coast" - gives me licence to run anything "Grey" from Bachmann / Hornby 27T tipplers, Coke hoppers, Pig iron open, MDO's, HTO's, etc etc and now 3 of these fine looking wagons ................... 4 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

There's only one problem I've spotted with this HUO - the scale. Please don't forget those of us who like our models a little smaller (N Gauge) or larger (O Gauge). Though the ones that worked around Westbury in the early 1970 were fitted, some of the original build were built specifically for traffic from the Cheddar/ Wells area. I have seen a photo in an album of diesel hydraulics of a Hymec hauling a short freight on the Cheddar branch; the train includes a couple of bitumen tanks and a solitary HUO. The photo dated from the early 1960s. Coal traffic from Radstock, at least, always seems to have been transported in 'flat-bottomed' minerals. Here's a sneak peek at one of the sprues, there are an incredible 74 separate components in each wagon. As we said before, we like to do detail!
