Accurascale Announce OO HUO - NEW PRE-TOPS RUN ANNOUNCED 23/07/2020

Recommended Posts

Modelling the entirely braked SR of the mid-late 70's but being unable to resist some of the excellent unfitted wagons available in model form, my Rule 1 excuse is ................... I have an entire train of condemned unfitted wagons with a brakevan at either end, specially authorised to run single journey from "the Midlands" to "a scrapyard on the South Coast" - gives me licence to run anything "Grey" from Bachmann / Hornby 27T tipplers, Coke hoppers, Pig iron open, MDO's, HTO's, etc etc and now 3 of these fine looking wagons ................... :imsohappy:

Hi Rembrow,

We are having a couple of glitches this morning (always the way with launches!) with the site. As you state, you should have received free shipping. Can you PM me your name and address and we will get that refunded for you?

Cheers for the order btw!

Hi 071

thanks for the reply, have e-mailed you on the 'service@accurascale.co.uk' e-mail address, with a copy of the order. Is that ok?

Remember, we are doing free shipping for any orders over £100, just make sure you toggle to 'free shipping' on the menu when you're in the checkout area.

I missed that didn't I but thank you for the credit note. Like all good drug pushers I'm sure you'll get it back soon enough. ;)

It's so refreshing to see a new model being anounced by it being shown as a lump of plastic rather than an item on a wish list.

There's only one problem I've spotted with this HUO - the scale. Please don't forget those of us who like our models a little smaller (N Gauge) or larger (O Gauge).

Thanks Steven. We set out to do this in 4mm, but there definitely seems to be demand in N and O. I'm partial to a bit of O myself...

Nice one. I'll have to keep these in mind when it comes to weathering.

My order is in - two different packs of unbranded, hard to justify Kincardine, York or Northumberland traffic through Abbotswood

But what else are you teasing us with? Loco and coach tabs on the web site.....

Hi Peter,

We will be able to cater for you direct, items less VAT and offer very reasonable postage rates. Feel free to contact us via email (info@accurascale.co.uk) when ordering if you need any assistance or postage quotes.

Cheers!

Fran

Hi Fran,

I just went to order a 3-pack, (E), and it gives me a postage quote of 30GBP flat rate to Australia! Hopefully there will be a cheaper alternative available?  I hope so, as the wagons look great!

Cheers from Oz,

Peter C.

I will be adding a few more shortly to the NCB Northumberland album and the next albums will be hopefully ECML Northumberland and ECML Durham. Off to Tanfield this sunday for the coal train day so there should be a few video stills from that to upload as well.

4 packs of hoppers ordered! Still waiting for a RTR J27 though.

Presumably none of these would have worked in to Somerset / Devon / Cornwall ?

See my earlier postings. Though the ones that worked around Westbury in the early 1970 were fitted, some of the original build were built specifically for traffic from the Cheddar/ Wells area. I have seen a photo in an album of diesel hydraulics of a Hymec hauling a short freight on the Cheddar branch; the train includes a couple of bitumen tanks and a solitary HUO. The photo dated from the early 1960s.

Coal traffic from Radstock, at least, always seems to have been transported in 'flat-bottomed' minerals.

Hi Flood

We have tooled all the buffers and components to make that possible as a future run, yes. No immediate plans until we launch the TOPS packs and then the internal user options however.

China are currently assembling our pre production models ahead of sending them to us ahead of Chinese New Year at the end of this week. Here's a sneak peek at one of the sprues, there are an incredible 74 separate components in each wagon. As we said before, we like to do detail!
