Following on from our successful venue move last year to Hyndburn Sports Centre, Accrington, we have now also changed the date to September 3 & 4, 2011.

Preparations are well in hand for this year's show, on its new dates -

First Weekend in September, Sat & Sun 3rd & 4th.

Those who came last year may have experienced some congestion in the Car Park, particularly on the Saturday.

This year there will be about 100 extra places available

This is due to the support of the adjacent junior school who are allowing us to use their secure hard standing area for all our Exhibitors, Traders and Members' vehicles. Access to this will be limited and only available to those displaying Official Passes. (Don't try to sneak in!)

Following last year's success and with the show expanding into a second hall this year, we are hoping for an increased attendance.

We hope this improvment will reduce or eliminate the parking congestion.

If it isn't 100 percent successful, remember on-street parking is freely available in adjacent streets, with a footpath through the Leisure Centre's ground to the main entrance.

Steve.

Just over two weeks to go now, and everything's coming together at the host club.

Tonight I sorted out all the road signs to direct visitors to the venue.

Teams will erect 74 of them over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

We're very grateful to Lancs County Coucil for their permission to use their lamp standards throughout the area for our signs.

We only had one complaint about our signage last year; one visitor would have liked signs to direct him home again!

See you all on Sepember 3rd & 4th?

Please make yourselves known, lots of BELMRS members members are on RMweb.

Would have loved to attend this show but i am afraid that i have been totally put off by the attendance of a certain layout and do not want to waste a considerable amount of diesel to see it again.

:pardon: Why are you letting one layout out of 28 put you off going?? I don't expect everyone to like every layout at an exhibition. That's virtually impossible!!

Don't boycott an exhibition because of one particular layout you don't like, just walk past that layout, and enjoy the others!!

Come on, you know you really want to go!!!!

Final preparations being made for the show at the club tonight. It's now less than 2 weeks away.

New Bryford is still under the builder's possession and extra overtime is being paid to get it ready!

Cheers,

Mick

Started putting up the road signs this morning.

My daughter and I have put up twenty-one, nineteen before the heavens opened and we got soaked!

Other teams will be out over the weekend, and a total of Seventy-four (or more) should be in place before we open on Saturday 3rd September.

Braved the traffic on the roundabout under the M65 as part of our quota of 20 signs................

Probably off to the clubrooms later today to work on New Bryford for the show.

Cheers,

Mick

Ready for the show now with Glen Gillie and Porth Eithin. It will be nice to see 3 layouts that I have made together at one venue. The other being, of course, Kinmundy which I built for Martin Wales. People will see a distinct similarity between the brewery/distillary on Kinmundy and the full model on Glen Gillie. I must say at this point that I did not build the station building on Kinmundy, would not like to take the credit away from Neil.

Looking forward to meeting any members visiting the show.

Peter
