  1. On a similar theme to what everyone else has said, these are fantastic models, great work and look forward to seeing what's next. Not sure why, but I'm inclined to get out my P5 pocket book and start scoring these off hahahaha. A line up of the 37s would make it easier
  2. Dutch please, and one which could be a Dutch T as noted above. Well done guys, the price is high but more than competitive and does make you question how other manufacturers can justify higher prices for toolings which are getting on a bit. I think these will sell well and look forward to seeing what is up next!
  3. Hi Cameron, Really enjoying this thread, and great work on the 20s. Are these all original models renumbered or have they been repainted? Cheers
  4. Hi, I'm hoping someone may be able to assist with a query I have with my Bachmann class 158. The model in question is one of the original batches in regional railways livery and has a fly wheel gear drive motor. When running the model, a constant thump sound is made from one bogie in particular. I have slowed it right down and you can see the individual cogs turning to a certain point and then it jumps over to the next. This is causing the thumping sound, however, what I don't understand is the fix. I've stripped the gear right down and there are no obvious damage to the gears nor old hard grease which can be a problem. Has anyone experienced this, and if so, any thoughts on a solution? Cheers
  5. These 47s are excellent, well done for producing them in model form. That 1997 timeframe which you model offers the chance to produce so many rag bag locos clinging onto life. Look forward to your next updates as always
  6. Great modelling as always James, and good to see some grids coming off the workbench. Are you going to keep us all hanging for the next update...
  7. Evening, I've received my copy of the book and thought the forum may like to see a few examples of what the contents are like. Plenty of modelling inspiration in this. Apologies for the poor quality phone pics!
  8. I can't disagree with your comment, but it always comes back to the old adage of Heljan need to make margin and if that's how they've structured the price there isn't much we'll do to change it. It's a tough balance for any manufacturer to make an item affordable enough that people buy it but not put people off at the same time. I'd like to see more first gen DMUs but at these prices I'd struggle to buy many. Nonetheless, it looks very good. Start saving up I think!
  9. Apologies if this has been asked previously but I didn't see a particular reference. If a particular model is sold out on the Accurascale site is the chance missed to get one? Or are the independent traders getting a separate batch?
  10. Hi, Hopefully the mods have no issues with this posting but I thought it would be of significant interest to a proportion of the forum. I've recently joined forces with David Cross, son of the much coveted steam photographer Derek Cross to produce a book on the railways of South West Scotland. Two distinct time periods are illustrated, 1960-1980 (Derek Cross material) and 2001-2021 by myself. The book is equally split in terms of contribution with 5 chapters in total. There is a huge amount of modelling inspiration contained within, hence the posting here. I've included a link below to Key publishing where pre orders can be placed https://shop.keypublishing.com/product/View/productCode/KB0122/Railways of South West Scotland
  11. How are things progressing with this layout? The previous updates were fantastic
  12. The pictures everyone has uploaded are great. Is it me or is the centre windows on the model appearing to be falling in the way? Looks like they need popped out towards the front.
  13. Good stuff. What colour do you use for the grilles?
  14. Great stuff Matt. Have you got a full image of the room? This looks an absolute beast of a layout. It's an area I know very well, definitely better pre overheads. Just need your thumping grids heading back to Falkland from longannet!
  15. This is really nice looking. What paint manufacturer and colour do you typically use for stage 3 and 4?
  16. Excellent as usual, look forward to seeing more of your work. Did your class 56 project ever get going?
  17. Hi Kier, What a fantastic video of your railway room space...lot of jealous people after seeing that ! In all seriousness, fantastic modelling, always look forward to updates on the website or on here. How big is your loco roster? Lot of stock required to fill that fiddle yard.
  18. What about the salt wagons that ran out of Runcorn under ews, used to travel up the west coast to Roche at Dalry
  19. Absolutely fantastic!. Can you describe how you go about painting and weathering?

    New Scottish book

Hi everyone, I'm pleased to announce that I've just released my first book looking back at Scotland's Railways in the past 15 years. There are no less than 45 different class featured (including dmus and emus). It's largely pictorial but no doubt will provide modelling inspiration for anyone with an interest in rails north of the border. Available here: https://shop.keypublishing.com/product/View/productCode/KB0041/Scottish Railways: The Last 15 Years Hopefully there are no issues with the moderators with this posting. If there is please remove.
  21. Thanks everyone. Bit frustrating, it's my first scratchbuild, will look into those options mentioned
  22. Good evening, I'm constructing a building and have cut lengths of strip for the window mullions, however, despite best efforts, the liquid poly has caused fogging around the joints. Is this permanent "damage" or will something be able to remove it?
  23. Thanks polybear. I soaked the body in warm water for a while after, and plan to prime it before painting. Do you think that'd be sufficient to wash the substance off?
  24. Good stuff. How do you deal with "imperfections" before painting. I note you've said you rub down, would you use filler then wet and dry?
