  1. Afternoon All,a Woke up to electricity - then fell asleep, and was wakened by a beep from the telephone in our bedroom - indicating that the power had been down - no idea for how long, but possibly only one of these blips - you know the ones that are just long enough to knock out the hub, TV box, cooker, and any clocks which don't have a battery back up. Today's task was to finally sort out the 600 plus railway books and to thin them out - I have now done that, and two large supermarket bags of no longer wanted or needed railway titles are Oxfam bound - they will probably turn up in the Ludlow bookshop some time next week, and will probably be stored as there is not a very large transport section - there are also a number of railway books in the shop - some are a bit rare - like Enginemen Elite, by Norman McKillop (Toram Beg), and also a number of Ian Allen annuals which are not all that valuable, but might fill a gap if anybody is collecting them - the 1955 and 1956 were there, but I bought them. I am also donating a duplicate of the 1953 Trains Annual, which has no dust jacket. I will list some of the titles which I am donating when I get them sorted out. If anybody is interested in anything, and is in easy striking distance of Ludlow, I am usually in the shop 09.30 to 13.00 pm a Monday - just ask for me. A large Glen Scotia beckons now as a reward for sorting out the books. Regards to All Stewart
  2. Afternoon All Been AWOL for a while, mainly due to being away to witness the awful driving in the road works on the M6 J21/26 - or to pit it another way to visit some of our friends up in Lancaster - I no longer publicise when I'm going. If there is anything that I should know, please could soembody PM me. Our hotel room had dodgy wifi, so I just gave up for a few days. Not a lot to report, but guitarists, here's what happens when two of the best players in the world get together - just popped in my inbox a few minutes ago. Regards to All Stewart

  4. Evening - The Sun Set/Twilight Time - Moody Blues (from 1st concept album)
  5. If Paradise (Is Half As Nice) - Amen Corner
  6. Isn't Life Strange - Moody Blues
  7. Glass of Scottish falling down water was partaken in Chris's memory after I got home, as I was driving before that, at the time that Chris's life was being celebrated,
  8. I'm Just A SInger (In A Rock and Roll Band) - mid years Moody Blues
  9. The Look Of Love - Dusty Springfield among others
  10. Afternoon All, Generic greetings and apologies - been busy with the laptop for a few days on and off - but some of that will end now, as all the preparations for 30747's 66th tomorrow are done. We had an appointment today to change the gas meter - according to our energy supplier - not according to the people who came - it was a dual change - and we were not aware (or prepared) for that. They were not local, having come from Newport in Wales, and actualy had not enough time anyway, having an hour and a half drive ahead of them. However, when we explained the problem (meter making a squeeling noise), they said we probably didn't need a new meter, just a regulator - changed that, and it appears to be cured - then we found a card to say that the earth bonding was missing - so we now need to get our electrician in to rectify that = more expense that we don't need. Then windoze decided to update itself without being bidden - as did Firefox - and the latter would then not open any we pages until I rebooted the machine. Regards to All Stewart
  11. Afternoon All Not a whole lot to report from 45156/30747 towers today - went to Hereford, and all the signs on the A49 approaching Leominster said "A49 Southbound Closed Follow Diversion". We had to visit a charity shop in Leominster to see if they had the other outdoor table to match the one that we bought on Tuesday - they had, and I mentioned the road closure to the bloke who was helping to load the car "It's only at night, but they can't be bothered to take the signs down when they finish" - and do it proved. However, we never got to the centre of Hereford, as we spotted a charity warehouse that we'd never visited, and it was ginormous, over 11500 sq ft - so we spent a couple of hours there, and spent quite a lot, then headed for home. Regards to All Stewart
  12. The Story In Your Eyes - Moody Blues
  13. Afternoon All, Sorry for the silence from here - but I have been lurking, but still have been skipping a lot - largely due to just can't be a*sed to use the laptop, and have also been quite busy elsewhere. Had the joy of "the bathroom's a mess - grout needs scrubbing, floor needs cleaning, and also I've just washed the dog, so the bath itself is filthy" - and two hours later, here I am. I should have known, as we took her to Croft Castle and the grass was very muddy, and the car seat blankets were also filthy afterwards, and along with all her bedding had to have a trip round the washing machine. Generic greetings - as I've been absent for days, could some kindly soul please PM me if there's anything that I should know (illnesses etc). Regards to All Stewart
  14. I agree - I did it many many years ago - and also Heysham 2, but security, elfn safety, and other factors put paid to that - shame, as the Heyham tour was a full behind the scenes version, where we had the full monty - walking across the reactor core and seeing the spent rod handling - all hard hats, and scanned for radioactivity before leaving. Now back on topic a bit, Rye itself is quite interesting, but probably not a lot for any youngsters.
  15. Slow Down Jackson - Olivia Neutron Bomb
  16. Nights In White Satin - early Moody Blues - but after the Denny Laine

  19. Phil, So sorry to hear your news - it sounds as though your brother is in good hands, which is all one can hope for in these circumstances. Stewart
  20. Morning All, Generic greetings and apologies - no excuses - just absent due to lack ot mojo. Having microsuction on my clogged ears this lunch time - hope the fog lifts before I set off. This popped into my inbox - it's pretty amazing - the lovely Emily Linge doing what she does best and covering a Beatles number - one of Paul's best IMHO. Regards to All Stewart
  21. Yes indeed - I've been a subscriber to all four main participants channels for some time, and they are all superb musicians, both collectively, and individually - nice to see that I'm in good company - they have toured Europe as a foursome without the bass player, but I've yet to see them live.
  22. Nothing Comes Easy - Sandie Shaw
  23. Take The A Train - Duke Ellington
  24. Let the Children Play - Santana
