  1. I’m not so sure I agree with you, yes it’s been redesigned by the smartphone generation, but you need to look at how they consume the technology. Why shouldn’t the Microsoft apps look and feel the same across any device I use - doesn’t matter if it’s an iPhone, iPad or windows 11 laptop - Apple also do this as well, we recently bought a MacBook Air for our son for college (our first Apple laptop) using it I didn’t think it was really that different to an iPad. But installing Microsoft Office on it, still has the same feel that I get with a Windows laptop. Personally I can’t see an issue with Windows 10 or 11 (I know I may be in a minority on this thread based on some of the recent comments). I can’t remember anything from Windows 7 or XP that would make me want to go back. Full disclosure, I work for a Microsoft Partner as a Business Applications Architect for the Microsoft Dynamics products (their ERP and CRM applications) so need to keep at the bleeding edge of the technologies so I may be a bit biased. Microsoft are spending a lot of money on CoPilot - it’s in all of the 23H2 releases - some of it is very clever/cool. CoPilot is Microsoft’s branding for AI, it’s designed to work with you not replace you.
  2. Came through while I was waiting for my train to Blackfriars - not best video but cobled together from several iPhone photos
  3. Look what turned up at Blackfriars while I was waiting for my train home
  4. Spotted this morning the trains are going to Frighton rather than Brighton.
  5. Took a few attempts to get the name right for Kings Cross, it’s the name of the tube station rather than the railway station. Up to 267 now with the help of SWMBO (her family is from London) got all the central stations. Struggling with DLR, and overground stations
  6. Came across this yesterday https://london.metro-memory.com after seeing it in the BBC news site https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-67197933. It’s strangely addictive managed to get around 140 stations before struggling (it counts each line as a station so Victoria has 3 stations Victoria/Circle and District lines)
  7. Thanks for the advice everyone, looking at the Royal Mail website - I was trying to see if they have a service that automatically returns mail if it’s not a known name, there isn’t - they deliver to the address not names, their advice is to mark as return to sender.
  8. Yesterday I received a letter to my home for someone random person, it’s not a name I recognised and we’ve lived here for quite a few years now. Looking at the postcode on the return address it looked like it was from the DVLA. I didn’t think much more about it, wrote return to sender and stuck it in the closed post box, however today we received another letter, this time from the NHS for another random person, but the same surname from yesterday (guessing husband/wife). Do you think it seems a bit odd? I’m not really sure what to do about it, other than sending the letters back with not known here.
  9. Warhammer world in Nottingham is well worth a visit.
  10. Reading the forward in the programme looks planning for next year is already well advanced, guessing the venue is already booked
  11. Visited today, really enjoyed it. Seeing all 3 making tracks layouts together was a bit overwhelming, being honest I preferred seeing them in Chester, but I think that’s because it was easier to take them all in whereas the crowds meant you could only see snippets. That said I don’t want to take away from the hard work and effort that’s gone into bringing the 3 layout together, Pete and his team have made something incredible. Think my favourite layout is Scarlington, James Street is also very good - I model OO, but they both show that a lot can be achieved with N in not a lot of space. (Too far down the OO to switch, although I may dabble with O with one of Accurascales Ruston’s) I didn’t have problems with parking, or getting in as we arrived around 9:45 and had advance tickets - the only thing that could be improved is a few more notices explaining about the parking and how you needed to register your number plate with the guy with the iPad. Oh, and banning those gimbal/selfie stick things that few people were using to take pictures of the layouts.
  12. Why is it I’ve got an urge plan/build a little 7mm shunting plank? Sound and DCC could be worth dabbling in as well. I’ve already been looking at whether I could scale up the Scalescenes industrial box file kit, and your HUO hoppers are reduced as well, I’ll only need a few…
  13. Saw 73141 & 73212 passing through Haywards Heath this morning. Followed by a cheeky fry up at Peckish Café after.
  14. Looks like the decision is unlikely to be reversed if Labour are successful at the next election… https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-67020768
  15. Got some photos of the rail tour as it went through Lingfield on it's way to the Bluebell...
  16. Haven’t been watching F1 this season, but I managed to catch qualifying today. What have Red Bull done? Hahahaha. Both cars looked very untidy at turn 3 when they were trying hard. They could have sewn up the championship tomorrow, guess that’s unlikely now. Will tune in tomorrow now I think, although I should be laying carpet tile in what will become the railway room.
  17. Funnily enough I had a similar email thIs week as well, also for 50007 and 50149. I wonder what the most popular combination of locomotives bought together is. 50149 is the first duplicate loco that I’ve bought, still have my Lima version somewhere.
  18. Well with their rewards points, it’s more like buy 34 and get one free. (Assuming my maths is right)
  19. Well spotted it wasn’t, but I had a very good email conversation with Simon on the Accurascale support line this morning and they are sending a spare out once they arrive in stock. Took about 5 minutes with them - really good customer support
  20. It’s not subtle, not going to lose the box on the shelf!
  21. Look what arrived today, and I got a note saying 97301 is on its way. Not sure why photo is upside down
  22. One more from this morning, looking splendid in the morning sun!
  23. Visited the Bluebell today for a trip behind Flying Scotsman in the observation car, got a few pictures... Finally - Fenchurch was shunting the Observation Car from platform to platform.
