Distinguishing between fungi that are good to eat, not good to eat and those that are dangerous is not bleeding rocket science. Though I suspect that it's most;y Townies that believe it is.
Hi
I am not a Townie and I wouldn’t go picking any wild mushrooms as I wouldn’t have a clue whether they were safe or not. We have some mushrooms in our back garden which look like field mushrooms but I’m not about to go and pick them to cook.

Got my class 28 back with it's new chip, thanks very much.
Question, does the class 28 have red marker lights? The loco has all it's forward facing LEDs working and change with the direction of travel but no red lights coming on. It's the same on DC and DCC.
Hi
To get the tail lights on mine I have to press f1 but I am using a self fitted decoder non sound. From memory when originally setup mine had one end on f1 and the other on f2 but I changed it to both on f1 controlled by the direction of travel. Forward lights are on f0.

Nah, save me the time of renumbering and make 56 110 - you get silver window frames too:

Note the DCC user-friendly number on the front!

Hi
Is that for people with DCC handsets that only do 10 locos as that is showing the number 6.

It's kind of odd the TT rush, railtec transfers which I use a lot these days do TT and 3mm but have much out of stock or not produced N gauge range.
Hi
Yes I found it strange that something I have been waiting for since about 2016 has appeared in all the other scales including TT/3mm but not N/2mm. Very annoying / frustrating.

Well I live in hope so the orders remain open but two years is a long time to wait :(
Hi
Is it? Other things have taken longer in the past and probably will in the future. At the end of the day it is a toy train not life and death.

Look nice - you need me standing on the top of one looking a bit nervous !
When I was in the Mostyn team we went to Anglesey and photographed all the wagons, all over, including the tops (hence my comment above) - I think @PaulCheffus may still have copies of my images ?
Hi
I re uploaded the images here after the photos disappeared last year.

Trip to Brigg Garden Centre with the odd distraction. Stragglers from 14/3 will be added separately.
First time for everything. Stopped on A16 to allow plane to take off from Humberside. Apart from Gibraltar any other roads/airport interface issues spring to mind??
Brigg signal box had recent repaint. Now seems to match listed box at Pasture St Grimsby?
Hi
Minor correction its the A18 not A16 past the airport at Humberside.

Not that I frequently watch TV programmes dealing with traffic police, but from what I have seen, there have been occasions when the PNC wasn't up to date and because it was the weekend the police couldn't physically check in real time, and there have been times when the driver has the documentation contradicting the PNC information, even down to ownership, so I doubt if things are much, if any, better nowadays.

Hi
I bought a new car recently and changed the plates for my personalised ones, this change was done online. There was warning on the DVLA website that it would be with immediate effect and to have the new plates ready to put on the vehicle. The new details didn't appear online for three days but I had all the necessary paperwork if I was stopped by the Police.

The trick to starting the car (Skoda), when the wireless doesn’t work, is to hold the key next to the ignition button. This will work.
Hi
I think that is the trick to all the cars that use a wireless ignition. Mine certainly is and it’s in the manual.

Alternatively, can anyone point me in the direction of a decent book or website that I can learn model railway electrics?
Thanks
Hi
You could take a look at this. I don't believe you have to be a member to read it.

I spoke with my doctor's surgery in Silloth re a PSA test (I am 57) yesterday and as a result, now have an appointment with the nurse on Tuesday next for same (blood sample required apparently). No quibble and exactly the service that I would hope for with the NHS.

Hi
I had mine done last week partly because of this thread and partly the constant adverts on TV / Radio,it was like the universe was trying to tell me something. Luckily for me the test was negative.

I've said many times that weathering really brings models to life, and I cannot understand those who don't do it, especially for realism. Maybe they think it'll devalue what they've got, but I don't get that. I know it would be daft to obliterate a top pro paint job, but I'm seeking realism; not a wonderful, make-believe railway world where everything shines.
Hi
I can give you my reason and its because I'm colour blind so can't see the subtly of the shades.

Talking Cadbury, I will always risk a diabetic coma for any limited edition Chocolate Fingers flavour.
Hi
Sorry I have to take issue with that comment. You would have to eat a lot of chocolate to get yourself into a coma although not impossible. It is more dangerous as a diabetic to have a low blood sugar rather than a high one. High blood sugars cause long term issues but low blood sugar can have you in a coma very quickly.
I am a diabetic and have been for over forty years.

Just came in to ask the same question. The membership payment has gone out from my bank and I received the email, so do I click the link or does renewal happen automatically?
(RMWeb is still displaying normally as for Premium membership)
Hi
I too got the email and ignored it, my premium membership still works as before. These are the first renewals for this type of membership so I guess some tweaking of the email content is required.

I'm on their "mail me when they are in" list, but didn't hear anything.
(I'm on the Pi Hut list as well)
Hi
Depends which memory size as these were 4Gb. I wasn't allowed to order a bare one but I can have a Pi4 with their essentials kit. I wanted to upgrade my Picade to a Pi4 so don't need all the other bits.
Essentials kit

The ordering rules

I didn't qualify as the account I used to have with all my purchases was removed and I had to create a new account a while back.

Think yourself lucky you aren't Raspberry Pi.
There's been no Pi 3 or 4 and only limited numbers of many other models for well over 12 months with Zero2 W and some others due in Sept 2023 and rest not until 2024!
Hi
Pimoroni had some Pi4s a couple of weeks ago but you had to fit their eligibility criteria to order one.

I live between RAF Donna Nook and the former RAF Manby and missed PA747. Pity really as I like seeing her. My father worked on PA747 when it was a test aircraft at Cranfield. He had a lot to do with it when it first was transferred to the BoB flight, helping find things like the gun turrets.
We cannot forget the bravery of the young men who took part in the raid.
We should also think about the 1000 plus Belorussian and Ukrainian female slave workers who were drowned in their concentration camp 80 years ago tonight. Victims of both the horror of the Nazi's and the murderous bent of Bomber Harris.
Hi
We managed to see it over Manby on its way to Strubby, I guess it was about five minutes behind schedule.

Paul,
My BOC's have stalled a bit as well, other stuff has got in the way and gone up the production list, really must get on with them. Actually the thing that has stalled them is bogies availability. I don't want to stick them all on GPS25's and would like to put a couple on Glocs MK4's but can't get hold of them in N...
Thanks for the info on the Polybulk, I'm not as skilled at scratch-building as you are 😉
Cheers
Neal.
P.S. Will you be at the NGS York soiree??
Hi
Unfortunately I won’t be at York due to other commitments.
I can probably help with the Gloucester MkIVs if you are happy with the version I used. Please feel free to contact me off list to discuss.

Paul,
Excellent mate.
I wonder how it compares to a 'naked' NGS Polybulk?? Might have to look into that and maybe kitbash an NGS one. Project for the NGS Show possibly....
See you next weekend Andy.

Neal.
Hi
I wouldn’t personally go that route as they are completely different. It’s quite easy to build from plasticard as the sides are very flat. The roof was time consuming as I filed it from a solid block for strength. The transfers are available from Railtec.
On a different subject how are the BOC tanks coming along. Mine have stalled as I need to sort out the transfers.

Mixed media or mainly Plasticard, please Paul ?
I would like a single example of either a PBA or a JIA bogie 'starch' wagon which I keep contemplating how to make.
Regards,
Ian.
Hi
Mainly plasticard with some etched parts, brass strip and wire.
This is the only photo I have from building it which was back in 2014.

RKB diagram 25 for me but not on your list. Current plan is to cut up some coaches to make one but I have plenty of other higher priority projects to do first.
