  1. My expanded album is here.... Good to bump into his Captainess today - My thanks to all responsible - I had a great two days "helping" on Bunkers Lane. As you may see in the album the next generation were also in evidence (and very efficient)...I've persuaded them to pitch up at Cheltenham in April... Chris H
  2. Today at Nailsea...
  3. I was there with Bandmbill on his excellent Bunkers Lane. My as yet uncaptionned pictures are here - click on the photo of the A team in action: I hope to get some decent camera pictures tomorrow....he said... ChrisH
  4. Can anyone advise on the DCC arrangements on these locos? TIA ChrisH
  5. A one-liner on a national commercial station news bulletin this morning was reasonably balanced (IMHO) saying there could be a serious effect on local economy if the service ended but citing a regulator with safety concerns over the operation....
  6. ......and will now be making an unanticipated guest appearance at SWAG in Taunton (aka SheepyRail) on 28 April and.... Ross on Wye (August 17/18) https://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/event/y2024/26766-RotaryClubofRossonWye_Exhibition and... the already advertised StowRail on 19 May...where there will be cake.....lots of cake.... http://www.stowrail.org.uk/ Chris H
  7. Not as sorry as I am - I feel it may be re-named... SKIPton feels appropriate at the moment 😉 C
  8. English rubbish at its best...inspired by the capital of North Wales....work that one out...
  9. I don't know what the issue is but I have no doubt that Phil and his team(!) will deliver the goods. I have an SLW sound fitted 24 and I have trouble getting it off the layout at shows as my operators are so happy with it... I will also see Phil at York and make polite enquiries! btw the SLW bodies are very easily removed....with little risk... ChrisH
  10. I worked in healthcare at a senior level and small failures, omissions and errors were often (but not always) an indicator of bigger clinical problems to come...I have based my personal assessment of WCR on that (plus a very poorly managed rail tour last year...so I do have some personal experience)
  11. You need to go on a course.... 😉
  12. I almost got scammed on ebay with this so its back here!
  13. Spent a pleasant few hours at AP today - catching up with a few old friends (layouts and humans). Bought a few bits from Squires, collected a loco from Digitrains and stocked up on paint brushes....sadly I was too late for the Park Run..... My swiftly thrown together album of mainly phone photos is here - and there some pictures of the big railway as well- click on the fot: I'll add captions asap.....
  14. My pics from today.
  15. Thanks to all - your answers are much appreciated. Chris
  16. We'll find out who it was and issue a life ban.....would that suffice?
  17. I'm sure I'm over worrying but I am a bit naive in the DCC department - does the speed of work of the frog juicer (Tam Valley is my probable choice atm) always guarantee that sound locos don't momentarily cut out from the "short" with all the annoying restart issues that ensue? Thanks ChrisH
