  1. Appears to be a VI Trains interloper in there?
  2. I'm sure all the models will arrive at the same time as is normal for a c500 limited edition. It just seems to be a batch pre-ordering process for some unknown reason.
  3. Also 37 514 was in Railfreight Metals and 37 242 in Mainline. Dont think 37 693 had a red stripe either.
  4. Blimey, didnt realise there were so many! Some that are missing from the top of my head: 37 427 Large Logo 37 670 EWS 37 418 Large Logo (part of trainset) 37 672 Transrail 37 672 Railfreight Distribution 37 411 Large Logo Also forthcoming (possibly!): 37 402 DRS 37 418 EWS
  5. Just to add a little to this. The LTM have told me that indeed "around 500" of each model is being produced which I guess means either 504 or 512 as that is the normal Bachmann limited edition run (or multiples of). They also said that the remaining batch of models are to be split between in-store and online availability - not sure if that is an equal split. So as suggested above I wouldn't hang around when 'Harry Beck' becomes available to pre-order again if you want to secure one and wont have easy access to visit the museum when they are released. I'm not so sure however about the emerging trend to pay up front when pre-ordering limited edition models (that is the case for both these and Rail Express' 66 720). Normal protocol was for payment to be taken upon despatch.
  6. Received an email this morning from the London Transport Museum stating that these two models are now available to pre-order. http://www.ltmuseumshop.co.uk/models/special-commissions/product/Bachmann-66721-harry-beck-class-66-electro-motive-diesel-engine.html http://www.ltmuseumshop.co.uk/models/special-commissions/product/Bachmann-66718-sir-peter-hendy-class-66-electro-motive-diesel-engine.html
  7. And is the upper bodyside correctly grey rather than black? If so it sounds like you have a 'special' sample.
  8. Thanks I didnt spot that. The first photo is in true Gatwick Express livery but the second, as you say, has Intercity branding. Unfortunately it does not change the fact that almost certainly the upper bodyside should be dark grey again (albeit a different shade than the executive livery) and not black as it appears to be on the model of 73207. What a shame. I hope my next target, 73138 in dutch, has the correct livery as they look like a great model other than the colour issues.
  9. (This is a genuine question and I am not trying to stir things up further) I am thinking of purchasing Olivia's Trains 73207 in Gatwick Express livery in lieu of 73102. The upper bodyside colour again appears to be black on the model photographs. Is this correct for this livery or should it be dark grey? A trawl of Flickr is inconclusive. https://www.flickr.com/photos/gbrailphotos/8025047326/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/37190-dalzell/10576330254/
  10. Sorry, I don't quite understand? Works fine except for the lighting issues? Are these the lighting issues mentioned by Mark201 (where they need disconnecting) or where they operate in the wrong direction unless you change the CV settings? Thanks.
  11. Has anyone else experienced the same DCC issues that Mark201 has identified with his models? I'm still waiting for my first 73 having cancelled 73102 and wondered if this is a big issue that cannot be easily corrected?
  12. I really must disagree with this last statement. Dapol are the manufacturer and they are responsible for managing quality and the supply chain just like any other business. The 'buck' stops with them I'm afraid and it is their reputation (and sales) that is tarnished by the poor livery effort on 73102.
  13. Pretty sure the Hobby Shop pictures are of the production models I'm afraid.
  14. Unfortunately no pictures of 73102 on their website yet to confirm bodyside colour.
  15. What is wrong with roof colour on 73138? I'm hoping it is the lighting that is causing these concerns...
  16. I've ask Hattons about this as I was considering cancelling my pre-order and they believe the sample was correctly painted in executive dark grey? Must admit it looks black in the picture above.
  17. Price for the 00 08 has been announced on the Collector's Club website. At £94.95 (doesn't say if this includes postage) this could be hard to shift. Due in stock in two weeks.
  18. Thanks. Sheffield Midland also had 08691 in a version of blue then green.
  19. So the next 00 gauge club model is class 08601 'Spectre' in LMS Black livery as announced in the Warley News thread. This is a nice addition to the 1980's station pilots theme (Birmingham New Street) with Modelzone/Invicta having previously released models of 08721 (Manchester Piccadilly) and 08833 (London Liverpool Street). Were there any others that could be added to this list in future? Were there LNER apple and GWR green 08s used as station pilots?
  20. Thanks for the responses. I have one of the original 'Platinum' run of 500 of DP1 which I assume is in the LMR/Preserved livery.
  21. A couple of quick questions. I've seen the term 'East Coast livery' for DP1. What is the difference between that livery and the preserved livery, and what livery were the very first Bachman run of these locos in? Thanks.
  22. I thought it was a perfectly reasonable analogy. The colour of your wing mirrors hardly impacts on the functionality of your car now does it? Also it is taken for read that this is not life or death in the scheme of things and any comments made are in that context.
  23. Sometimes however I think we are a little too forgiving about the sloppy livery errors all manufacturers seem to make. If you bought a new car and they had forgotten to paint the colour co-ordinated wing mirror covers would you be happy to paint them yourself? I often wonder where it goes wrong. Are livery specs wrong or are the factories not following them correctly?
  24. Nevermind the over large numbers on 73 102, surely the livery application is fundamentally wrong?? Look at the position of the nameplate and BR logo? Am I missing something? https://www.flickr.com/photos/paul-green-photography/8172219332/ http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/37834/4D-006-000-Dapol-Class-73-Electro-Diesel-Locomotive-73-102
