  1. Good Afternoon, Just a reminder this event is still going ahead 1200-1600, we have refreshments in the form of tea, cake and sandwiches. Cheers Benjamin
  2. Hello . Would be interesting , not nice if you have lost money , but may save other clubs making the same mistake , after all we are all this together , one big community trying to help each other , Thanks Mr Teamyakima for bringing it up .
  3. Good Morning, Excellent work in the rebuild it looks great now and worth the all the effort you have put in. Benjamin
  4. Afternoon, It has been decided that we shall once again open up our club for an 0 gauge open day on Sunday 19th Sept 2021. This shall follow the format of our other open days. We shall have the layout running in DC or DCC so please feel free to bring along any 0 gauge stock you wish to run. Even if it just a loco we should have carriages or wagons available. It gives us all a chance to run stock and anyone who is interested to see the progress being made on the new layout. As always there is refreshments available at the club house. The address is Moorhouse Avenue Alsager Stoke-on-Trent Staffs ST7 2DH We look forward to seeing you there Benjamin
  5. Hi, I have just used clear plastic behind and painted the recces black. It does the job I find, not ideal. Someone down the club does laser cutting and I was thinking about asking if he could laser cut the glazing for me. As for attaching the chassis I have just placed the bodies on and it was a nice snug fit. I could be temped with a 185 after seeing the prints you have there. Benjamin
  6. Hi, I am looking forward to seeing the progress of this, I am sure it shall look good and a nice easy fix with the 170, I did the same with the 175 and it was a nice easy swap. Benjamin
  7. Good Afternoon, I really like what you have done with backdating the J27, I quite fancy a go at this myself. Just out of interest who did you source the decals from and the etched plates? Cheers Benjamin
  8. Good Evening, Ill be keeping me ear to the ground on work of the Stirling service and with any luck it shall be 90 hauled. However in the meantime I'm tempted to do an ex gc 90 now for a liner service. It looks like getting Weaver Hill out again might be in the distant future though which is a shame.
  9. Be watching this with interest Bit of a fan with Royal Mail trains
  10. Cheers for the photos , brought back a few memories
  11. Hello ,Anymore photos from that location , Only asking spent a few weekends there . Cheers
  12. Hi, Thanks for getting back, typical after ordering the nameplates the other week. I shall drop him another e-mail this afternoon. Thank you. It's all good up here in Cheshire, however I am still admiring the work you manage to turn out and it's spurring me on to try and finish a few of my own project. I suppose with no shows to attend there is no real rush. The next project shall be to finish the tfw Class 175 from the 3d printed body shells, from your helpful pointer on the decals. I'll update the Weaver Hill, or home layout thread sooner or later. Cheers Benjamin
  13. Hi, As always you've quite an arsenal of products. I've been doing a 90227 and have been wondering on the best approach for the buffers. Like you in the past I've used the Hornby class 67 detailing packs but they are thin on the ground now. Your casting looks a worth replacement, If possible where did you get these from? I like the green door on 90047, before the Bachmann 90 I tarted up an old Hornby model in this guise. Cheers Benjamin
  14. Hi Jerry, I am after some of the Transport for Wales decals, where did you manage to acquire yours from please? Cheers Benjamin
  15. More scenary planning on the layout late night. The less is more approach is definitely being taken. However with all the planning there was the opportunity to run a few trains. The Class 90 being Squirrel Rail respray of this Parish and a lovely job it sits well on the Virgin service.
  16. Thanks for the comments PC re the Mainline Class 90, As soon as we have the opportunity to get the layout up again, even though it is slightly out of period I'll make sure I get a happy snap of it running. Even the garage layout has been Americanised at the moment so there is not a great deal of opportunity to run much.
  17. Hi, Are you using foxes orange band for the GNER 90? If so are you having to cobble the number together from a 91 numbering sheet? Cheers Benjamin
  18. Good Morning, The GNER ones looks great Jerry, looking forward to seeing them complete. Ben
  19. The final update for this evening. Another project for Weaver Hill is a GC Class 90 complete with stock. The MK4 have had the base coat of black along with the correct windows blanked off and are awaiting their organge strip. In the meantime the Class 90 is all finished. It is gutting we shall never see this service come to fruition however maybe we shall see something come of the proposed Stirling service.
  20. Also another project that's being worked on is Norton Bridge Signalbox. This was a laser cut by Phil Moreton. It's still in the early stages of painting but at the end it should look impressive.
  21. Good Evening, There has been very little modelling going on at the moment and the layout is unfortunately still in storage. However we shall be attending Alsager Model Railway Exhibition at the end of the year if everything goes to plan. Anyway a project I've been working on is concerning a swallow class 90 into an executive one. It's not to shabby and should look the part on the sleeper or Manchester Pullman when we run the layout backdated. It looks like Waterman has seen the Weaver Hill and extended it for the Chester Cathedral layout, I'll be looking forward to a visit to Chester to see the layout. Attached is a photo stolen from Facebook of it.
  22. Hi Jerry, That sounds like the service. Well if it was at Man Pic I'd say so. It was where my brother and I jumped on it for a run to Brum. An enjoyable day. Cheers Ben
  23. Hi, Is the EWS 90 and ex-anglia FO destined for the hired in XC set that used to work the Manchester - Birmingham service. If so I remember going on it when it was like that but hardly ever see any photos with the Anglia mk2 in it. Ben
