  1. Good Evening, We have returned from Portsmouth and are all unpacked. We have an excellent weekend at the show. The layout did it's usual trick in the morning and would not allow us to run stock without the odd derailment on just about every train we ran. However once it had bedded itself it performed very well as always. It also received favourable comments from the public which is always nice to hear. The highlight of the weekend has to be Bachmann allowing us to run their forthcoming class 90s on the layout. The EWS one looking very much at home on the sleeper. I have to say Bachmann have done an excellent job as always. Thanks very much to the Bachmann team :) We hopefully have a few more shows from the weekend so there is plenty more opportunity to play trains. It was great to meet Andy there and you'll be please to know we have got back safe, we had a great weekend and even managed to do a little sight seeing on Saturday evening and Sunday morning sf315 :) back to blighty now though.
  2. Good Morning, Weaver Hill is now all packed up and ready for us to depart south this afternoon.
  3. It is on the final stretch now, there is a little figure painting going on to add a few more to the layout along with the signal box which shall be added. The signalbox is still lingering on with only a few months left until the transfer of the line into Stoke SCC. (at least in our world). We are looking forward to the weekend.
  4. Good Afternoon, We are getting ready for our next exhibition at Portsmouth. There are a few changes to the layout but not a great deal. Unfortunately it's been in storage since the last show so shall be good to get it out again. We shall be running the layout in a 2004 guise for a change. Virgin mk3s with brand new Pendolinos passing. Benjamin
  5. Good Morning All, A little bit of a late update. As always things are moving down the club. We have had the boards donated to us for making the fiddle yard which shall make operating the platform a lot easier. We have our running night coming up this Friday followed by an open day on the Sunday. The open day is open to all of those not at the Hornby model railway exhibition. As always feel free to bring your own 0 gauge stock to run. We operate both on DCC & DC. Refreshments available. The open day shall be from 12pm - 4pm. Location; our club rooms in Alsager just off Moorhouse Avenue. ST7 2DH. http://www.alsagerrailwayassociation.co.uk/ Many Thanks Benjamin
  6. As always it has been a while since my last update. There has not been a great amount of progress with the layout, it is very much slow and steady wins the race now. A few of us are doing a lot more train running but the modelling does suffer from this. Our Monday club conducting most of the scenic work on the layout. There has been some progress with the engine shed area of the model, we are now going to include a turntable, work on this shall be chipped away on a Thursday evening. The main work has been on the signalling for the layout, for simplicity we have decided to install colour light signals. One is already in place at the end of the inner platforms. In other news we have gained a few more members which is always good to have, the more the merrier as always and they bring their own modelling expertise into the club.
  7. Good Morning, Just a very short update with a few photos from our last exhibition. This shows off the new roundabout area well
  8. An excellent video was made by Barnabas Junction https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKVpEV6dLoE
  9. Good Evening all It has been a while since I have updated and I though I had done one post show but it appears I have not. Anyway we had an excellent weekend playing trains at the Alsager's Bank model railway show and the model performed well, however we did have one failure of a Pendolino. There has been an update to the right hand side of the model, we have removed one of the bridges and added a roundabout, something slightly different to the bypass scenic break. The prototype for this is just outside Newcastle on the ECML towards Durham. Attached are a few videos from the weekend with a guest appearance of 6S94 (Clay slurry tanks) and the RHTT.

  12. Hi All, I am just starting out in 3mm, after spending years helping to operate a 3mm layout and admiring the stock I have decided to take the plunge and have a go myself, here is the tender for a K2 which is my current project Benjamin
