  1. No one that I know of. It was just a comment earlier on about not expecting to see it from Dapol. I'm very please it had been announced and I hope it is a shift to more a emu from all manufacturers
  2. Is this the reason the announcement is so early as there is a duplication on the way
  3. I have to agree though I really did not see this coming from Dapol. They are skimping on the liveries also
  4. 🤤 well I know I'll be ordering at least one or two of these.
  5. Its been a busy week getting stock together for Weaver Hill, the couplings on the liner trains have been changed to wire, hook and loop style as the tension lock usually end up giving us grief with a pair of 90s rostered for the front. The other project and one I've been meaning to do for a long time now is bring the auto ballasters up to date with network rail branding. I've managed to complete one side today and the second awaits for tomorrow after work.
  6. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned in this thred but I do enjoy joining in witb the guessing game. Really jumping in with what others are saying but I guess two new tooling could count as the Bulleid Tavern Car sets. I mean they are querky enough I don't think some people would mind they never ran on their region. Although they did have a fair scope of operation when they were introduced. I'm with most on here thinking something 009 is on the table. The demand is there, and it is perfect for the home over tt120. As for no4 maybe going back to earlier post a Class 66, as has previously been mentioned I can't see Bachmann giving this ground up especially when you look at the money they must have made with all the limited editions out there
  7. I think the lack of seeing any liveries produced on their old tooling suggest a new 66 is waiting for us
  8. Good Morning, It is time to turn our attention again to the stock for Weaver Hill at our next show at Newcastle. We are looking forward to the show and having the chance to run the layout again. We shall be running the layout in it's natural WCML theme.
  9. I'm with most people on here and shall be ordering at least one of the iow version. Although no real iow layout to go with it like many, being one of our holiday destinations of choice I've collected a little stock which sits in a display case.

  12. https://www.scale3d.co.uk/ I have found these have been excellent for modern figures.
  13. Good Evening, Day 1 at Bala model railway show has finished and we have as always enjoyed our day playing trains. For once we are running the layout in a wcml cross period style this is offering plenty of variety to the layout over the weekend. We also have had some guest operators operating their own stock on the layout. A few photos attached from the guests. We also had someone testing a TPE 3d print class 185 on the layout. Many Thanks
  14. Good Morning, I've updated the name of the layout now on here as the bridge is being removed from the layout and replaced with the fiddle yard next Thursday. The future plans for the bridge are uncertain. Last night we had a running session and attached are a few photo of the layout. While the new fiddle yard boards are wired up we won't be able to run but it shall give us an opportunity to finish off some of the scenic work.
  15. Good morning all . The weather looks wet ,so why not come along and watch a few trains . Hopefully see you there .
  16. Evening All Just a quick reminder , 2nd day of exhibition at Trent Vale ( ST4 6SB ) Stafford model railway circle have there new layout operating , as long as plenty of other layouts to see. Please come along and enjoy it .
  17. For a country that does seem to have a high green agenda this feels like a backwards steps. However in the grand scheme it shall go unnoticed by the mainstream media as a train still takes x amount of wagons off the road but again the service is still not used to the extend it could be. I'm all for electrification and this demonstrates as a country we are not really that interested on a whole in it, for the few serviced that require the wires to run. Scotland have had the most foresight in electrification even wiring grangemouth, however the db 90s won't be gracing that route any more
  18. Slightly back dated photos using the Dapol 45xx
  19. Trelissick (GWR Branch Line) O Gauge If any of you have been to Cornwall you may have come across the Trelissick estate, located in Feock on the banks of Carrick Roads, the estuary for the River Fal. In our world here is the history of Trelissick. The GWR had wanted to build a railway to St Mawes however this was never constructed and instead to tap into the trade in this area they decided to build a small spur off the Truro to Falmouth branch to connect with the King Harry Ferry at Trelissick. All services originally had to run into Falmouth before accessing the Trelissick branch. However like many railway enhancements during the second world war the junction at Perranwell North was turned into triangle, allowing trains could not run direct from Truro. The branch line junction is just on the Truro side of Perranwell & runs through two intermediate stations Carron Downs and Playing Place, one has to wonder why both towns required a station when one would of adequality served the needs of the community. The railway then swings in a long arch around towards Trelissick. The railway passes close to Roundwood Quay, where there is a ground frame to access a small quay. Unlike the real history of the quay, our quay has thrived and expanded and sees costal vessels using it weekly, ensuring a steady flow of railway traffic to and from the quay. (The rails have yet to be laid on the model) The quay is depicted on the right hand side of the layout hiding the fiddle yards. Moored alongside is a small coaster, based on one which used to be based at Hayle Wharfs. Trelissick is a typical branch line station. One platform face is provided and can accommodate 2 coach trains along with two sidings. Most of the goods received in the yard here are usually transferred for onward travel to St Mawes and the Roseland Peninsula, this does however also bring in a steady supply of goods from the numerous farms. Coal traffic is handled in the yard for the surrounded villages and estate house. The traffic is not high enough to merit the whole station yard and to tap into the holiday market the GWR [BR(W)] has had a camping coach on the site during the summer since the 1930s. The only real interesting feature in the yard is the concrete buffers. This again was a wartime addition. Prior to the D-day landings there was a large build up of the allied forces in this area. Trelissick with its access to Carrick Road was chosen as an ideal location to load the infrastructure and men onto the ships. This is the reason the triangular junction was constructed to avoid the need for a second run around at Falmouth and to keep wartime traffic away from the docks. The model is set around the late 1950’s to early 1960s. To the left of the model is a small village scene with a few fishermans cottages and the local shop. The road that separates the cottages from the railway leads down to the King Harry Ferry. Road traffic is the real way to travel and the cars soon back up waiting to cross on the ferry.
  20. The weaver hill team are looking forward to receiving a copy of BRM. The next chance to see the layout out and about shall be at Bala and our thoughts have already turned to working out what stock needs to be packed. Maybe one less train shall be packed with Mat 89, what livery did you go for?
  21. Good morning yes day two of very good exhibition. Well worth a visit , good array of scales .
