  1. AFAIK only the 2 coaches kept for the WR 'Royal Train' were in choc-cream?
  2. If I make a donation to eg Wales Air Ambulance it currently qualifies for 25pct gift aid to boost the donation. If I make a bequest in my will, is this boosted by the same amount or is it simply £ for £ as I'm technically no longer a taxpayer once I'm dead?
  3. I hope I haven't used this before. IE225 waits for the off at Mallow 27Oct08
  4. Interestingly here in rural west Wales, Post Office facilties have improved a lot in the last year. My 'big little supermarket' is a Nisa store about 4 miles away. Last year the Post Office in the main street closed and they opened a cubicle in the suprmarket which was much easier for parking etc. Earlier this year the Co-op took over the Nisa chain and have been slowly changing the product range and the hours of opening for the shop. As part of this they've increased the opening hours of the PO. Sorry I can't tell you the actual hours as they're not online and it's pretty much open when I go there. I think it's open Saturday afternoons. It's certainly open something like 10am-1pm on SUNDAY - and I actually used this last Sunday to send a parcel.
  5. What Now My Love - Petula Clark and many others
  6. It on BBC TV News this morning about Citizens Advice Bureau calling for govt to spread rollout over another 3 years to 2023 due to problems creeping out of the woodwork. Govt response (which no doubt would have been the same from any party). 'Now is not the time to take our foot off the pedal and give the energy companies any excuse to slow down. Consumers are getting so much benefit from this........'
  7. Baseball fans will be well aware of Vin Scully - a man who truly is a living legend and has only just stopped broadcasting at the age of 90. It was said he could make a shopping (grocery) list sound interesting. This clip is sound only. Would you buy everything on the list after hearing this? I would.
  8. Hopefully I'll be permitted a little OT diversion. Fat Man was dropped by B29 Bockscar which is now in the USAF museum at Dayton, Ohio
  9. Could you not get a pic of the fallen madonna with the big b00bies?
  10. I'd Rather Go Blind - Etta James (and others)
  11. Back in 2003 we visited the air museum at Kalamazoo Michigan. There were a number of older guys there helping out and one of them had flown with the RAF. He may have been Canadian and not American but no matter. I asked him what he flew, half expecting the answer to be B17 or Liberator or some American type. Never in a million years would I have though I'd have travelled a few thousand miles to north America to hear someone say he was a Lysander pilot!
  12. Normally no (for me). But as there's a prototype for everything within several hundread thousand BR wagons...... I would normally weather over decals. In some cases wipe a bit off immediately. Some cases I'd leave the decals almost obscured, and finally in a few cases put some masking over the decal before weathering so the area is almost clean when the masking is removed.
  13. I always wondered what happened to Old Yeller
  14. Hanwell 27 July 2013 before the suicide barriers. More electric units?
  15. If it's for a Citroen surely it should be capot or preservatif?
  16. On The Road Again - Canned Heat
  17. Found it. On the home page where it says DESIGN MAKE SELL there are 9 small blocks to the left that look like a logo. If you hover over this you will see orders and messages. Pity they couldn't have thought about how users would actually use the glossy new website and what their reuqirements might be. Consult the users? What do they know?
  18. Is it me? I can't find any of my old orders or conversations on this new version.
  19. I've got one of those handrail jigs. Never used it. Do you think I can find it when I actually want it?
  20. Willit be too heavy for them to throw over the fence, or will they have a go anyway?
  21. Totally I was an avid Radio London listener in the mid 60's. One Thursday Ed was playing his afternoon show and I had reason to send him a postcard commenting on something he'd said. I posted this Thursday afternoon about 5:45pm at the post office in South Ealing (west London). At the time I had a job as a Saturday boy in Halfords Ealing Broadway. During my tea break on Saturday afternoon he actually read out my postcard. What was amazing was that it had actually got to the ship (boat?) in well under 48 hours AND the fact that he'd read it AND I was on 10-15 mins tea break at just the time he read it. Actually come to think of it, it's not too OT as it makes me smile
  22. Apparently DHL have got the contract to carry the box containing Schroedinger's cat. I wonder if that will end in tears?
  23. I think everything he's selling is either RARE or collectable. He's even got some rare collectable Lima. The only thing he hasn't got is some AWESOME stuff https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JOBLOT-of-Vintage-Lima-Coaches-Hornby-Wagons-VGC-Some-Rare-Collectable/232869874200?hash=item3638204a18:g:92EAAOSw4fZbYKu6
  24. Always - Frank Sinatra et al often quoted as I'll be loving you always. Many versions, but a first mention in this column for Barbara Cartland and the Mike Sammes Singers
