  1. Ingrid Bergman is quoted as 5'9" or 1.75m and looks to be similar height to Yul Bryner here https://www.alamy.com/ingrid-bergman-yul-brynner-rome-1962-image185357125.html?pv=1&stamp=2&imageid=8B1F8963-EF0C-4AB8-B2FA-868DF6484C9F&p=147051&n=0&orientation=0&pn=1&searchtype=0&IsFromSearch=1&srch=foo%3dbar%26st%3d0%26pn%3d1%26ps%3d100%26sortby%3d2%26resultview%3dsortbyPopular%26npgs%3d0%26qt%3dyul%2520brynner%26qt_raw%3dyul%2520brynner%26lic%3d3%26mr%3d0%26pr%3d0%26ot%3d0%26creative%3d%26ag%3d0%26hc%3d0%26pc%3d%26blackwhite%3d%26cutout%3d%26tbar%3d1%26et%3d0x000000000000000000000%26vp%3d0%26loc%3d0%26imgt%3d0%26dtfr%3d%26dtto%3d%26size%3d0xFF%26archive%3d1%26groupid%3d%26pseudoid%3d%26a%3d%26cdid%3d%26cdsrt%3d%26name%3d%26qn%3d%26apalib%3d%26apalic%3d%26lightbox%3d%26gname%3d%26gtype%3d%26xstx%3d0%26simid%3d%26saveQry%3d%26editorial%3d1%26nu%3d%26t%3d%26edoptin%3d%26customgeoip%3d%26cap%3d1%26cbstore%3d1%26vd%3d0%26lb%3d%26fi%3d2%26edrf%3d%26ispremium%3d1%26flip%3d0
  2. A bit more investigation shows the likely plate would be JTE 549 http://www.old-bus-photos.co.uk/wp-content/themes/Old-Bus-Photos/fleetlists/M%20&%20H%20fleet%20list.html
  3. FAQ's that never address the question you really want answered
  4. One of the pics on Flickr suggested it was ex Morecambe and Heysham which would fit well with the Regents in this series Preserved Morecambe & Heysham 69 (LTF254) 05092010 by Rossendalian2013, on Flickr

  6. I think they're both quoted as taking their inspiration from Gary Sprake (Leeds). Younger viewers and listeners may not be aware of the joke that was circulating at one time. Gary had been really depressed about the stick he was getting after some high profile mistakes. In fact it got so bad he decided to throw himself under a bus. But..... the bus went under him...... His miss at Anfield one time gave rise to the playing of Des O'Connor 'Careless Hands' at half time and forever after the Anfield fans taunted him with this.
  7. I would say no. I've not seen many photos of Eisenhowers UK train but one here shows LNER teak https://www.express.co.uk/news/history/949527/ww2-train-defeat-hitler-secret-covert-operation-eisenhower-churchill Here's a closer view of one of the coaches in the National Railroad Museum
  8. I had an L1 which had been part weathered for a while, so I've finished the job. I've changed 67759 to 67778 which was a Neasden loco. The L1 and Gresley compartment stock go well together IMHO
  9. The ultimate in cars designed by a committee. Made the Trabbi look reliable
  10. The Hornby Brit is still a great model but lately H have tried hard to make it look like a toy However with some TLC you can turn it into a hard working everyday express loco
  11. 60008 at the National Railroad Museum July 2005 long before she came home for a while
  12. One of the chaps in our O gauge group actually built nearly 20 coaches for Pendon in OO. When he did a couple of demos last year he said he used clear PETG sheet (the 20 thou version). Available from Eileens and poss others https://eileensemporium.com/index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=category&task=listing&cid=1116&name=eileens-clear-styrene-petg-sheet&Itemid=189

  14. Are they the ones the Germans threw in when playing lesser sides in the footie?
  15. Weren't all the aircraft in the flypast MoD/RAF owned? I think you'll find all the Meteors/Hunters/Vampires etc are private and thus unlikely to have been allowed over London.
  16. Goals against Zaire is all I remember of Scots World Cup campaigns.......
  17. There's this shot at Paddington May 69 acc to caption. Not sure if it's the same set Blue Pullman Paddington 5.69 by George Woods, on Flickr
  18. Not sure if you used acrylics or enamels, but you could try the appropriate thinners on a cotton bud and gently wipe the paint off. May take 2 or 3 goes depending. This would give you more confidence in feeling you can retrieve situations and also means I'm now confident at buying some 2nd hand attempts where I feel I can do better by getting something cheaply and breathing a bit of life into it. Do give up too easily!
  19. He'll be round shortly, he's just washing his furry dice

  21. Actually there used to be one from 1969-74? Not much interest so it died.
