  2. The Hornby King in its latest guise from the SEN factory with the chalky-white green. Rails were flogging off 6006 King George 1 for about £69 (boxed but with the TTS chip removed). At that price it was pretty much a steal if you were prepared to put a few hours in. I think Kernow had a GW ex-TTS version at the same time/price. I wanted one that wasn't overly bulled up but still reasonably clean as dieselisation is still over a year away for these workings. I had no reason to change the name/number as all 30 are ok for me, but did replace Hornby's with Modelmaster plates.
  3. Is this shiny enough? Illinois Railway Museum 2005 (never did find out why they call this a Railway museum and not Railroad but I'm not complaining)
  4. See example here http://www.hattons.co.uk/98136/Hornby_R4648_Gresley_suburban_First_Class_E81035E_in_BR_Maroon/StockDetail.aspx Were any of these declassified to 2nd/3rd class towards the end of their lives? I'd like to add more Gresley suburbans and it would be nice to have another variation if possible.
  5. Surely he can empty his bladder faster than he can recharge the car? (Though with my prostate it might be a closer run thing.....)
  6. My browser's on Welsh time, everything's slower here - just catching up!

  18. This Hornby Gresley Composite normally works in my cross-country set so doesn't get as grimy as some other stock. However it's still prone to pick up weathering in all its nooks and crannies.
  19. It's difficult to tell from this shot but I'd say the map's in colour (albeit very 'knocked back'). Assuming the wall maps were the same as the public handout (and I belive they were), and looking at MILL HILL EAST which is shown below the line (blurred but if you have a selection of maps it's easily discernable, then this would make it Undergorund Map 1941 Issue 2. 1941 Issue 1 was sepia and white with MILL HILL EAST above the line. 1940 Issues 1 and 2 were both black/sepia and white with MILL HILL EAST above the line.
  20. Flying Scotsman? Not on your Nellie..... but in the land of Cartmel I guess all things are possible https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-RAILWAYS-MODEL-No-R078-BR-CLASS-A3-4-6-2-60103-FLYING-SCOTSMAN/302259545945?epid=2083154593&hash=item466012a759:g:k5IAAOSwpP9Y5lCk
