I was suffering from frequent headaches over the past few days as well. Not sure what exactly may have been the cause, but drinking more water may have helped as I'm feeling much better today.

      Can't wait for winter.

  3. Is that true for all releases of it? I was sure for some reason it had one, must be my infernal memory again (that and the item is 10 miles away).
  4. To allow transfer between the two fiddle yards really. It should start after the scenic break really, and be linked to both lines, but it was added as a bit of a afterthought.
  5. Decided to download Inkscape and have a go drawing a full plan. It is still rather rough and still needs more thought, but I think its starting to give an idea of whats what and where etc. Added a road section to allow lorries to load/unload from the transship shed as well as a tank/truck/vehicle ramp for loading/unloading onto trains etc. kelly
  6. hi Gareth, any chance of a guide for a Bachmann split-chassis N?
  7. I seem to be looking at some of the Revell railway kits... 1/87nd Big Boy strangely appeals... as do some of the German black/red steam locos (possibly to go with a Me-109/V1/V2/Fw-190 for a diorama

I've been looking at the 1/72 scale F-22A Raptor and the Typhoon kits, also must resist

  8. Very nice, I've a Dapol ProtoDeltic on my workbench to get around to at some point, and do rather fancy doing DP2 (and GT3 et al ...) and doing dioramas for all of them... At least if i mess up the Dapol body it don't cost much (unlike with a rtr body).
  9. Looking good. I have an old Mainline one I intend to update sometime, not been able to find the A1 etches anywhere though. Looking at the photos and the model I think I'd have to agree about the lip, its because of the glazing moulding to some extent I think, certainly on the Mainline issue it is a lot chunkier, I was thinking of replacing it with acetate or similar and brass wipers of some description.
  10. Was kind of what I was meaning in my muddled way of writing lol. I want to get the Salisbury/Chilmark idea right, and so research and time is key, especially as neither of us is working presently so a longer time frame for budgeting it is best anyway, although the Narrow Gauge and NG/Standard Gauge tranship area won't need a lot of stock, only the exchange sidings/main line would.
  11. After having a rather busy last few weeks with DEMU Showcase and a DEMU airbrush/weathering meetup in Tamworth haven't had much chance to sit and do anything at the newly cleared workbench alas. However, conversations with Natalie have progressed on various aspects of both the Salisbury/Chilmark layout plans and possible subjects for the RMWeb 2011 Diorama Challenge. My thinking now is to work on the Diorama and put the Salisbury/Chilmark idea on ice to some extent and continue researching it as it will be a longer term project I think, especially the exchange sidings/main line bit! the Diorama will be a small, easy and simple way to get back into the hobby and both myself and Natalie have a few ideas we're passing about between ourselves at present, some rather exciting. As well as this, have been looking at Warship (Cl 42) details with the aim to update/detail an old Mainline model, and repaint it Maroon as D827 ' Kelly', as the Salisbury/Chilmark idea can feature warships as a later period, allowed by the ideas floating around about multi-eraness of the layout by having items such as buildings and signals removable (also to aid storage). Am currently working way through photos taken at DEMU Showcase, so they should be on flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/geekgothgrrl/sets/72157627000402774/) and here fairly soon. Kelly
  12. Not had chance to do anything on the workbench as yet Dave as been too busy (DEMU Showcase, other events, life) and not too great at same time in regards health. But currently awaiting attention are: two Parkside Dundas SR CCT 'plywood', a box of Dapol kits to have a play with (been over 15 years since I last touched scalpel or glue to a plastic model!), a Mainline Class 42 Warship which will end up Maroon as D827 'Kelly' after a bit of updating etc and a pile of broken old airfix aircraft kits to take apart and salvage where possible.
  13. LOL, well I will eventually still need to finalise plans and work out what sizes needed etc as budget very very tight sadly
  14. ... by that I mean i've cleared space off of my desk enough to have a work area at last! Now to decide what to do with the space... (box in left corner is full of plastic kits (mostly Dapol/ex-airfix))...
  15. managed to clear my workspace/desk at last...

It'll soon be messy again , I've been a continual clear and mess up cycle for 10 years lol !

  16. tommorrow i think i'll sort through all the bits i grabbed at weekend and see what is usable and tidy an appropriate work area in my office..

  17. Not been posting on rmweb recently due to personal life issues (mainly health related). But have still been thinking about the plans I have with Natalie. Finally got the 25W soldering iron at the weekend at DEMU Showcase for a better price than I could find online, so was happy, as had to cancel previous order as the site couldn't get stock. Also picked up a few books and a couple of magazines. So came away happy without spending too much. So pretty much have most of the tools I think I need, with only an airbrush/compressor and paintbrushes missing really, which can be gotten another time. After Showcase stopped by at Natalie's and picked up a few items I'd left there (mostly loads of old humbrol paint tins, tools and so on) and some Dapol plastic kits, which will get me back to doing plastic kits in a simple small fashion. Then can do the parkside dundas CCT plywood kits I got the other month at some point. Then it is onto thinking about getting a brass kit of somekind, am thinking one of the Judith Edge 0-4-0 or 0-6-0 shunters which should be usable on layout being planned. And even if not i'm not too worried as really want to get back to building kits. And the Judith Edge kits look both well put together, affordable and are supplied by very friendly people! Will leave it there and get back to watching telly I think. Over the coming weeks hopefully I can manage to clear off some space in my 'office' to work at to start building some of the kits as well as seeing what I can salvage from the paints and the aircraft kits I also brought back with me (ones I made over 15 years ago and were left at Natalie's gathering dust, which I don't think came out too bad, but have suffered exterior damage). Kelly
  18. enjoyed DEMU Showcase on Saturday, will process pics later, looking forward to Stafford now

  19. Interesting. Tempted. But, the narrow gauge bit of the layout plan I've been thinking of/researching with Natalie can't be entered as i've discussed the plans here? (no physical work of any kind done though). But might be fun to do something else all the same. Kelly
  20. just about to upload pictured taken yesterday at GCR and shove some items on eBay... fun times....

  21. hmm, seems soldering iron will take longer to get here than thought first of all, just as well i'm not in a rush
