  1. Very tired, and feeling worse for wear after a busy weekend. Saw Andrew Lawrence this evening at Warwick Arts Centre. Sadly wasn't as good as I'd hoped.

  2. looking forward to seeing Andrew Lawrence tonight. insomnia not helping tho..

  3. Nice card models there. Out of interest what glue is best for card models?
  4. BTC black and silver is a very good livery for those sort of locos. I always liked two-tone green over BR Blue, seemed to work better for some locos, especially the Deltic and that 37 looks good in that (as well as BTC).
  5. had a good evening out at LWMRS. Natalie borrowed my new smartphone, and promptly took 300+ photos with it. It seems to be pretty good for it. Tired now.

  6. Lovely shots, really feeling this is one of the big reasnons to goto Ally Pally this year. Looking forward to seeing it!
  7. had a nice geeky evening out, involving pizza and the local LUG social meeting.

      Pizza is always good!

LoL, I looked up LUG as I thought it might be a Lupus thing as my wife has Lupus/Fybromyalgia, but should have clicked with the "geeky"...

  8. Coming along nicely. Those boxes really are the perfect size for such a layout.
  9. Glad you're getting such positive news and progress with the show.

    New Stock Boxes

photographers flight cases make good boxes for this and can be found quite cheap sometimes.
  11. Enjoyed the right track dvd. Now understand about soldering a little better than i did before, and wanting to give it a try soon. Also, 'The tube' on BBC2 was good.

And as for the Tube - surely one of them is dead and the other one is now a dull mainsteam piano plonker?

halfwit - Part 1 doesn't. IIRC Part 2 (which I've yet to watch) does, but the Alan Gibson 4F featured has a etched body, the others have white metal bodies (SEF 61xx, DJH A2). Also, wrong tube ;)

  12. time to curl up with a mug of earl grey tea, and watch one of those Right Track DVDs.

  13. Thanks. The 'Exchange' bit may change, but a name was needed.
  14. Those dogfish look really nice And the photo plank looks good too. I think I shall have to make one, and make it double as a test/dcc programming track.
  15. think next time I see the SEF stand I might get a Met Brake Van/3plank wagon kit and see how i get on with white metal

SEF will probably be at Alexandra Palace in a few weeks time.

Colin: yes, I just checked, they will be there. They're always friendly and great to have a chat to, they even remembered me and asked after me whenever Natalie saw them, even though I'd not been to exhibitions for over 5 years! Always make a point of going and having a chat with them at shows if they're there.

We had Dave and Mick and the SEF stand at Tonbridge yesterday, and yes they are always happy to meet and remember people they mmet at exhibitions.

  16. If it'd of been a Railroad model, then I'd still of been less than impressed, as I'd expect those to be simple yet rugged. Bad on Hornby I think this one.
  17. Interesting post, have been pondering what to do about the ballast stock, as I'll need some for West Cromwell Road. The 'dogfish' looks good to me, as does the 3plank.
  18. I saw this at the LWMRS show in January, impressive it is too! (and saw it again at their open day). I'm currently planning (with Natalie) a LT steam shed layout based upon Lillie Bridge, called West Cromwell Road.

    EBay madness

Ficticious Liveries all over again, except that thread seemed to only feature diesels/electrics...
  20. It was amusing at least so when are you going to do a 2mm finescale bus?
  21. The bogie pivot point looks shockingly woeful for a model that commands a £100+ price tag to my mind.

So he is a business seller using a private account? trying to sidestep VAT and distance selling regs... The livery suits it I think... *ducks*
  23. no surprise that i woke up aching. this calls for drastic measures: http://tinyurl.com/6r85j3o

  24. Up until now the RAF Chilmark inspired layout has been without a name This has bugged me a bit recently. Discussions with Natalie brought up the name Winterbourne. I liked it, and I feel Winterbourne Exchange feels a suitable name for the layout. I’ve updated the categories and the page for the layout, so all [...] Source
