  1. So long as it's real class 70 and not one of those fugly diesels. https://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=452713
  2. Who else is actively moving away from retail? The new kids on the block who started as direct sales only (e.g. Accurascale and Rapido) moved into supplying retailers as well as their businesses grew IIRC.
  3. I could not agree more. Thanks for the prompt, I've just been into their bookface announcement and left them a frank expression of my opinion, FWIW.
  4. Oh indeed. Cat out of the bag? https://uk.Hornby.com/?xnpe_tifc=bdU_xdxjhfhLxI_ph.su4ypsafeWaeiWhFWNadHcRkejhM41hdJ7tu4vt9UgrkbZOkeLxdo7hunjhI1jx.1T
  5. Maybe I will finally get a chance to purchase a DCC giraffe car? 😜
  6. A class 128 was unofficially named Scooby Doo.
  7. I'll really miss the Wigan show, as an exhibitor and punter, always a great weekend.
  8. You forget to mention the ocean going sized mobility scooter with 120dBA reversing alarm and Boudica style wheels with swords sticking out of them. 😉
  9. I must confess, all these would get me to part with my £o££€¥.
  10. Some Bulleid coaches in BR(S) green would get me to part with my £o££€¥. Hint hint. ;-)
  11. Appledore is now back at Chateau Bob in Warrington and available for exhibitons. :-)
  12. Too right Andy. This is the biggest PITA of exhibiting at the NEC IMHO. After a LONG day on Saturday, you can't get out of the ****ing carpark as all the punters for the evening's gig are coming in, but the NEC's staff are conspicuous in their absence and nothing is done about the situation. A classic case of "we've had your money, so now we no longer care" on the part of NEC's management*. :-( *No criticism of the individual NEC stewards is intended. I've never had anything other than a friendly and helpful experience of them, it's a management failing.
  13. Ageed. Don't forget, Noah was an 'amatuer'. The Titanic was built and run by 'professionals'. ;-) Never underestimate keen 'amatuers' and 'blokes in sheds'.
  14. Yep. The BR(S) green pair. The detail pack comes with a second vacuum reservoir. Do I need to glue it on, or just leave it in the goody bag?
  15. Thanks. It's the BR(S) 2-set, a diag 2123 BSK and diag 2405 BCK.
  16. Nope, clearly visible behind the trusses.
  17. It matters because at the next exhibition they'll be some smart-@rse who does know. ;-)
  18. On the subject of the detailing packs, how does one know whether a particular coach needs the second vacuum reservoir adding or not?
  19. I'd agree on that point. I thought the quality of the layouts on show was exceptional. IMHO the lack of Saturday punters was largely, if not entirely, down to the rail strike. The usual crowd of Anorakia Britannica on Saturday was noticably absent. :-( As an exhibitor, no complaints, except the long walk in the rain to get in and out setting up on Friday. Unfortunately, the exhibition manager can't book the weather! ;-) Cest la vie. Likewise, the sad demise of both the tea urns in our hall could not have been predicted. The long walk to and from the other hall was a PITA, but what else can one do? Life is nothing but an eturnal struggle with the law of s0d! I'm already looking forward to bringing my other layout next year. :-)
  20. Oh! That's not very encouraging. I've not had a play with mine yet, but I'll report back what I find. In the meantime, have you tried the coupling bars that they are supplied with?
  21. I came across this topic earlier, so I thought I'd chip-in with my effort. I drew this Minories varient a few months ago while teaching myself to use SCARM. 12 feet long scenic section, 20 inches wide and intended to run with up to 8-car multiple units and six coach loco hauled trains. Plenty of NPCS action with a continuous parcels doc all along the back of the layout.
  22. I've just had an e-mail from Grimy Times in Warrington (my very local model shop) that my BR(S) green 2-set has arrived. I'd also love two or three of diag. 2406 BCKs, a 3-set L and 5-set H if Bachmann were to produce them in BR(S) green. So come on Bachmann, get 'em ordered from the factory! :-)
  23. On a similar theme, but slightly off topic, I used to work for a large company whos IT department instigated a particularly sensitive naughty word detector in their e-mail system. Consequently, we wage slaves took great sport in trying to defeat it in internal communications containing a bit of jolly banter between friends by corrupting spellings in ways we would recognise, but the naughty word detector would not. A result of this is, for me at least, when telling some d0zy b@st@rd to p155-off, I cannot stop myself from using these alternate spellings online. ;-)
  24. Bump! It's this weekend folks. Don't miss out. :-)
