  1. After a lengthy hiatus courtesy of "germageddon", Bodim Generally will finally be making it's appearance at the Preston show ( ) over the first weekend in March. Do pop in and say hello. So long I get the modifications finished in time Bodimin Generally will be featuring fully working signals for the first time.
  2. Irony: a) the physical property of containing a great deal of iron. b) a small town in Idaho. c) "state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often wryly amusing as a result".
  3. Probably rising from an arm and a leg to an immortal soul?
  4. There's a mention in the video of a price rise in March. So my long-awaited Bulleid coaches are going to cost even more by the time they arrive.
  5. IMHO, they owe it to those of us with the old one to make the new interiors available as a spare part. Customer care and all that. They admit in the Engine Shed blog that the old one is not up to scratch, so come on Hornby, keep your customers happy! Replacing whole original models with the new ones is not just a case of liveries, this new tool is the later rebuild units with extra seating where the guards van used to be, so just repainting it into earlier colour schemes won't work.
  6. Surely taking shortbread to Scotland is the food equivalent of taking coals to Newcastle?
  7. RMwebbers will be delighted to know that at 1:38 there is a bus on the bridge.

As you were! I found a photo () and it looks like the exhaust is in the same place as the existing tooling, as is the radiator fan grill. The other "holes in the roof" are definitely in different places though.
  9. As Noah said, "I'll take two please".

IIRC the roof is also different (exhaust and boiler openings). Is this also being changed? (Apologies if my memory has failed me).

Exactly what I was thinking. To do D6334 onwards they'll need to do a re-tool. So have they done this? Or are they cheating and using their tooling for the early type locos pretending to be a later?
  12. The green buffer beam is even odder. Another artifact of the reversed processing.
  13. I have come to the conclusion this morning that today's announcement by Hornby has been a resounding shot in the foot, at least in terms of their reputation within this forum. They've made a huge annoucemnt of all sorts of new stuff, and the only thing people are talking about is their deliberate attempt to damage the sales of a competitor's new product by a deliberate and wasteful duplication, which is being perceived (rightly or wrongly) as a spiteful act of bullying. Whether or not they get sued sucessfully over this is a moot point IMHO. They've done themselves no favours with modellers by deliberate duplication, which we all hate. THe biggest frustration as a modeller these days is lack of supply and huge waiting times for new products. None us us want to have to choose between two duplicate new models. We want to see two new models of something different, where we might even buy both of them. This is weapons grade stupidity.
  14. Google is your friend: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203746000852?hash=item2f70353fd4:g:jsAAAOSwjQJfq9Qt Other search engines are available.
  15. You're right of course Clive, they should do both. Maybe also the Battlespace "Sniper" version too?
  16. May I refer the right honerable gentleman to my earlier plea for a DCC giraffe car made in this thread. (on 23/12/21).
  17. Do Canadians use US style dates, or sensible ones? That could be the 1st of October.
  18. Does a Zulu trainset come with Stanley Baker and Micheal Caine action figures?
  19. I'm pretty sure that GT3 was not a steam loco, even if it does look like one.
  20. I'm puzzled by this, as I remember this quotation from Bishop Tutu; "I would not worship a God who is homophobic and that is how deeply I feel about this. I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven. No, I would say sorry, I mean I would much rather go to the other place. I am as passionate about this campaign as I ever was about apartheid." Speech at the launch of a United Nation's gay rights campaign in 2013, per BBC.
  21. Given that Honby reused the undergubbins from their 2BIL to produce a 2HAL without the expense of designing and tooling the whole thing, how about a "tin HAL" please uncle Simon? The same trick would work again for you. :-)
  22. Mystic Bob predicts................ DCC giraffe car.
