Just a small update not done much weather been too hot down here after working 10 hours a day to tyred to do anything when i went to the DEMU show i did buy a Slaters van wide kit so i made a start building it, the other week there was a JLTRT class 33 kit for sale on FB its a 33/1 the asking price was too good so i snapped it up so will make a start soon don't know if one ran in North Devon.also picked some scenic up well thats about it for now heres some pictures. Hi Andy I forgot about that i blame this heat i have just been looking at the kit as well i do like both its for a layout i am doing set in the early 80s North Devon i think 33/1s went up there. Steve

Hi If you give peco a call they used to give you a track plan of what layout you after or any of the other layouts that are on show its worth a call. steve

Hi I have just brought the kit from another modeller it's a 33/1 I new it was but for what he was selling it for was an offer I snapped up the question is could I build as a 33/0 and fill the pilots hole in what not needed on the cab front. Thanks Steve

Done a bit more over the last few days bridge in place just got to do the road surface some of the buildings are stuck down fence posts in needs staining ballast on and glued now waiting for it to dry need a level crossing gate at the end of the platform the building with the loading bay is not fixed on yet needs some detail inside then it's start on the scenics. Hi Paul Yes i have done some more started fixing the buildings on, the bridge in place and embankments on then start ballasting when i have a bit more done i will post more pictures. Steve

Lived in a village just outside then Moved to Stapenhill,Burton on Trent from 1982 till 2006 then moved to Dorset used to live across the road from where the lines went into Drakelow power station used to love hearing the class 20s ticking over sadly no more. Steve

Wow I had to look twice to make sure it wasn't real I could still picture myself walking down those steps on spotting nights just utter brilliant. Steve

I can do from where I live on the South coast West Bay in Dorset to Burton-upon-Trent in 3 hour's and we do it a lot to visit relations. Steve

Evening Had a good two days on the layout Saturday I picked up my supplys from the model shop so Sunday I put the corrugated sheets on the building's just had enough, today I built the station platform and painted the building's still got the the girders to paint started covering the bridge but ran out of glue last week I received 4 clayhoods part of swap deal from a fellow RM member thanks Jim the ones from you are hooked up to the 31,here's some pictures of what I have done.plus name change as it's North Devon ball clay based layout.

Hi Did a bit more today only just as the sun is out and hot but I resisted so cracked on didn't get time Saturday to pop to the model shop to get some supplys, done the rest off the building's they are ready for corrugated sheet platform edges glued on started the 3 arch bridge and that's it for now wife home from work so now beach and a few drinks. Hi Mike Thanks for liking the the last clay layout I did, I didn't get round to giving it a good weathering before it got sold but this one will,it's got to be my last one I build my bank manageress has told me no more ripping them up i can extend if room available she liked the last one. Steve

Hi Mike I agree the hoods are not the correct ones i did wonder about using the Dapol or parkside and if they are air braked or i have to convert them or putting end doors on the Skytrex ones but i will look into them at a later date.It was a shame about the last layout but there was always that not just right about it and looking at my one before that and seeing the hoods for sale at Bristol got me wanting to do another one it will be North Devon again,i don,t mind anybody making comments more the better. Done a bit on layout today until I ran out card sheet for the buildings to late to get some more started on the loading shed and platform for other shed,then sprayed the track and sleepers that's about it until I get more supplys. Steve
