New signal gantires are being erected over the Xmas break at Cardiff Central station, the old signals being repositioned onto the new posts.
Cardiff road bridge (Newport) is progressing well it seems,
Somerton road bridge (Newport) ready for lifting out over the Xmas brea, huge crane onsite since the 22nd.
Contractors have been digging circa 6x6 holes in the platforms at Newport station since the start of December overnight, then back filling them with Tarmac. I'm guess for OHL piles ?
Piled bases are in place on both sides of line with no (obvious) gaps between Llanwern West and Llanwern East inlets.
Both new footbridges around Undy and Magor complete, work to remove the long steel bridge at the west end of the old yard at STJ is cracking on.
The footbridge at STJ is now open, minus disabled ramps, the old bridge is completely gone now.
The former "tunnel" that allowed access to Caldicot station has been removed in full and replaced with a proper concrete bridge.
Piling bases are in the ground (with gaps) from Ableton Lane tunnel to Patchway tunnels.
No work as yet to remove or replace the footbridges at Pilning or Patchway.
OHL compete and wires up at Stoke Gifford IEP depot.
Various worksites are in place now along the Filton four tracking worksite, from Filton station down to Temple Meads.
