Severn Tunnel to Cardiff Central. Lots of bridge works going throughout the route, dozens of OHL tubes in the ground, pretty much a continueous set along Llamwern, but very hit and miss thereafter. -

First time beyond Avonmouth this year so I was very surprised to see this lot had sprung up, and Severn Beach station had gained a lovely new fence ! -

There is a grate in the down side wall, which leads into some kind of chamber. I'm on a XX30 Wednesday off Cardiff, so hopefully the preceding HST will drag its arse through the tunnel, that usually means we get stopped on the Welshside for him to clear, so hopefully I'll be able to get a picurre of it. I've spend a good few hours looking through your "average" lol signal thread, awesome doesn't cover it ! Being a western man your proper lower quadrant signals were of particular interest, can't wait to see the miniature masterpieces for ST-E. Great Western -

A Freightliner coal service derailed some years ago, it was easier and cheaper to plain line it than replace the damaged sections. Great Western -

The crew doors behind the driving cab will not activate when the cab is keyed in. However if the guard is keyed in at that door they obviously can be opened, for short platforms etc. The first 158 is at Bristol Barton Hill for heavy C6 and will return in GWR Green, with new WC + tank, Wifi and power points ! Hopefully not with the SWT door modification which locks the door behind the leading cab OOU, that's a pain in the arse. Really looked forward to the Class 158 program being completed. Great Western
