It should be okay but I am not sure what DC controller that you are using. I have an old H&M Executive controller which has a total output of 2 amps and I am able to test any new DC loco that I purchase with no issues even the double motored Heljan loco's. You can purchase these relatively cheaply from a well known auction website. I hope this helps.

Dave F's photos - ongoing - more added each day
jcarta replied to DaveF's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
I have at least 75,000 colour slide scans of photos taken by us plus thousands of scans of black and white photos. Then there are many thousands of digital photos as well! Blimey David..... You must be associated with the likes of the British Railway Museum, in all fairness if it wasn't for you and your parents photography we would have missed out big time. Thank you soooooo much for sharing, very much appreciated.... -

Absolutely stunning 👍

I still think you should get the builders to knock a hole in the wall so you can run through from the den via the living room, dining room and kitchen into the garden. I am sure I can get your fostered trio back to sort the planning and then to implement the building work..... Let me know lazy Joe and relatives aren't doing much at the mo 😀

Steve, That's exactly how It started..... saying to myself that I only need 3 or 4 loco's, a few wagons and possibly 3 coaches. O gauge is an addiction so It never ends with just 3 or 4 loco's.....😁 I recently replaced the shelving in the office and SWMBO came home and stated that she wasn't expecting the shelving to run all along the whole wall. I just replied that it was safer so the loco's couldn't fall off the ends then she said "that now there were larger gaps between the loco's"..... I just smiled and slowly filled the gaps with more loco's. 🤣 -

I have to agree with you both that the 26's & 27's have a special place with me. I spent quite a few years (1978-84) going to scotland especially heading for Inverness. In those days you could always wander around the yard and nobody bothered you. Although the Railfreight livery was nice I still think you can't beat a nice grubby one in BR Blue complete with headlamps. -

Steve I think you are doing a brilliant job and I have to agree with Rob .... It's amazing what you can fit into a small space and this is giving me quite a lot of thought.... Next stop for you, hopefully we will see this on the exhibition circuit. -

Steve You could always remove one of the motors from the Class 26 & 27 and just fit a smaller chip as you loco's will never draw too much current on a small layout.... Just a thought. -

another era ends......Only one thing to say Hasta la vista Andy 😁

Yep..... It's great to see the layout being used again. Do you have any plans to change anything?

Driving down the A1M and in the slow lane is 43169 possibly on its way to Doncaster....
-
Blimey..... For one moment I thought you had built a new railway layout and in record time!!!
-
Sorry to hear that the layout has to find a new home after all the work that you have put into it.... Good luck with your new adventure, looking forward to seeing the new look mini pod layout.

I’ve never had one fall off any of the stock where is has been stuck with double sided tape. I’ve removed one very carefully and I found it ruined the nameplate as they are very flimsy.

Paul I hope you all the very best in this period of your life and it;s great to hear that you're going to get back into your modelling. Take care buddy 💝

Welcome to the 7mm side ..... I tend to use Shawplan, not that there is anything wrong with the others. They are very easy to cut from the spruce, stanley knife usually and then a quick file around the plate and finally I use extra thin double sided tape to fix them to the loco..

Paul The cats or the fur LOL I do have a similar issue then it is only a small dog but hates being brushed. Jim

I'm glad you're ok and been given the all clear.... Happy New Year to you and the family
